Rep. Renee Ellmer, who shuttered a pro-life bill with 60% public support on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade may have a challenger in the Republican Primary. According to GOP operatives who spoke to Roll Call politics the Chatham county GOP chair, Jim Duncan has been interested in a primary challenge of Rep. Renee Ellmers for some time and this most recent betrayal of a core Republican principle may be enough to push Duncan to commit.
Ellmers already started the 2016 cycle with a couple cracks in her hold on the seat.
In 2014, local activists were angry over her support for giving undocumented immigrants earned legal work status, and she received a primary challenge. She defeated Frank Roche, a radio host whom Republicans called a weak and underfunded challenger, with 58 percent of the vote.

The district which starts in the Raleigh suburbs and makes a winding horseshoe shape through Fayetteville and up to Asheboro includes large chunks of Chatham County.
I dont know whether or not Duncan is the man for the job, I will wait to read what Ericks sources have to say on with regard to his conservative bona fides. That said, the connections to the party apparatus, along with his connections to the Coalition for American Principles, would make him an attractive candidate, especially if he shares our core principles, like the sanctity of life.
This is how it should happen every time one of the people we elect to represent us instead betray us. We should not be afraid to take corrective action against those we send to Washington, and the sooner in their career you do it, the better.
You did this to yourself, Rep. Renee Ellmers.

Very good advice cotton. I’ve wanted to get that word out to where all our conservative organizations do the local work that eventually leads to the national Congress. We ought not to allow people we elect turn their back on our Constitution and stay in office. If we can make that clear it might actually change something eventually.
I’m not sure why Ms. Elmers wouldn’t vote for this, it’s not as if the pubbies were going to beat the veto anyway. Dumb political move. You have to know Obola would veto this one as he is already on record supporting partial birth abortion up to full term. These people are such idiots they can’t even put the checkers on the board while Obola is checkmating them.
"It is not only most prudent then, but absolutely necessary to give the people a legal, constitutional, and peaceable mode of changing [their] rulers, whenever they discover improper principles or dispositions in them. - John AdamsCompare that to what Scott Walker thinks about that same process:
Scott evidently hasn’t learned a valuable political lesson....
They are not fellow Republicans. They are traitors within our ranks proclaiming one set of principles to get elected and another-usually opposite once seated
It is our responsibility to make sure that every phony “conservative,” who campaigns one way and votes another,is primaried in 2016.
Pathetic
Yeah, those three consecutive elections won in four years were just chopped liver.
You keep gently berating me about Walker, haha. I think he’s a top pick. We need someone who wants to and knows how to fight the left. Walker and Cruz are at the top of the list. Rubio is a phony, Santorum’s an annoying joke, and Romney and Bush are liberal republicans. Perry’s also a possibility but decided to be cute and go bleeding heart in 2012. And Paul’s become an all over the place embarrassment.
I agree. What do we do
We write in a Conservative (again) and lose (again). :(
Ellmers is one we had high hopes for when elected. Instead she turned into the traitor of the’10 class.
