Ayn Rand should be included “
That was my thought, too.
.
Hah! How true (unfortunately).
Hand them works by Sappho.
The course syllabus employed a standardized canon of theory that began with Plato and Aristotle, then jumped to modern philosophers: Hobbes, Locke, Hegel, Marx, Weber and Foucault, all of whom are white men,
How dare a course examining the roots of our culture only including works by people who actually contributed to our culture!
What happened? Do tell!
These two oppressed students certainly have their transgendered panties in a wad.
Berkeley should be considered Satan’s playground by Christian parents. Their children will be attacked by the ungodly who populate the place.
My first thought as well...
It’s Berkeley, and you’ve entered the twilight zone.
I recently downloaded a philosophy class of Professor John Searle off of iTunes, I am halfway trough the course, He’s a big lefty, and his ideas are not all that persuasive, but picked up some good references to pursue.
trough=through
So, the students have a problem with reading works by men who wore dresses? How intolerant!
What are they complaining about? Didn’t Plato walk around in a dress.
The possibility of someone that internally confused, producing the philosophical depth presented by Plato and Aristotle, is infinitesimally small.
The colorful costumes and masques clearly indicate that traditions included the same gender issues facing the LGBLT community today. The clearly indicated scrotal carving under the chin predates modern transgender surgey by more than hundreds of years, as well as the first atrtifact to reference to the modern practice of "tea-bagging".
Can there be any doubt that this Dogon couple would fit in without comment in the Castro Street Parade.
Next they should boycott the fruits of the eeeevil white man’s labor! Starting with; phone /cell phones, computers, electricity, cars, Starbucks, ballpoint pens, glasses, contact lenses, antibiotics....
That would be a great idea for a college english course. "The Fountainhead" or "Atlas Shrugged" would be great instructive literature for those skulls of mush. Some heads might explode though.
Furthermore, I wonder if there ARE currently any college english classes that read and discuss any of Rand's books. Somehow, I doubt it.
But didn’t the Greeks idealize manly love? Not enough?
:)
Say the Secret Woid and you win $100.
Socialism at one University.
A parody of Josef Stalin's remark.
There are no words...
