It’s not a “civil rights march”.

Civil rights marches were designed to force legislation through threats and intimidation. This foolishness does neither.

“Marches” without the threat of violent action if the purpose is not realized are a foolish (and pathetic) waste of time. The recent spectacle in Paris is exhibit #1.

I remember that's pretty much what MSM did for the Taxpayer's March in Sept 2009. There were pix (at the time) comparing what MSM had presented vs others' pix.

A wide range of crowd estimates was suggested for the event, with most media sourcing the Public Information Officer of the D.C. Fire Department who unofficially estimated the attendance "in excess of 75,000" people. The D.C. Fire Department later released a statement saying that they do not do crowd estimates, and any crowd estimation attributed to them was false. They also stated that an early estimation of 60,000 over Twitter was for a specific area, Freedom Plaza, not the total number of participants in the event. Event organizers also reported a range of attendance. FreedomWorks suggested between 600,000 to 800,000 participants while National Taxpayers Union said 200,000 to 300,000.

No, not a waste of time at all.

Look at the turnout. More and more younger folks.

God Bless them.

They should show the pictures of the horror of aborted babies. Let them see what they have done. With them in spirit & prayer.

I hope they ARE young and strong and represented by lots of women! In fact, I hope they target the REPUBLICAN WOMEN who blocked the vote on a bill designed to protect the unborn.

Go to their offices and demand they vote for the innocent babies.

What was the goal of "civil rights marches"? Was that goal achieved? Why? And how long did it take?

What is the goal of a "march for life"? Has that goal been achieved? Why not? Will there be "marches" for the next 100 years?

The civil rights phenomenon used marching to threaten and to intimidate, and it was spectacularly successful. Marches for life threaten nobody. That's the difference.

To quote the pre-Christian Chuck Colson, "grab 'em by the balls, and their hearts and minds will follow".

Words to live by.

Is not “civil rights” another term for “human rights?”

so this gives me hope

Hope is good.

Results are better. The "civil rights" marches started in Birmingham in 1963 with the goal of enrolling blacks to vote and to have access to public accommodations. Within 24 months both of these goals were legislated by Congress, with the desired result of a 98% Democrat voting bloc which has persisted for more than fifty years.

The reason this all happened so fast was the latent threat of violence. In fact, occupying someone else's property without permission IS violence.

What are the anti-abortion "protesters" willing to do to achieve their goals?
