You’re right. I would say that the EPA did a great job cleaning up the country, as nobody—including conservatives— wants to see polluted streams, smell garbage along the streets and roads of the land, or breath dirty air.

So why don’t we declare that the EPA met their mandate, and since the job got done; thanks and go home?

Because now they have changed from a helpful agency of all the people to an imposer of the agenda of radical green environmentalism who only represent a fragment of our society.

So often such is the way of government. Long after they have met the goals of what they were set up to do, they begin making rules and regulations to keep themselves in power and paycheck.

I don’t think methane will make any more problems than CO2 has. It’s all BS. The left is getting desperate.

Exactly their tasks, if any, can easily be done by each state we dont need a national epa.

Add Herman Cain, turned out to be the real flake when he dropped out because he couldn’t admit if he cheated on his wife, and he really should have told the truth, stayed in, and quit answering the question after that.

Another sore spot is Palin never answering to her support of McCain over J.D. Hayworth in that Senate race, has there been any response I may be unaware of?

Your list is the same as mine. But to be honest I really didn’t write them down. (Since corrected)

Pence was a US Rep and had a lot of supporters here on FR. At the time it was, and still is, thought potential candidates should have executive experience as a governor. Pence went home, ran and won and has been governing well. It also follows the Reagan model when RR lost his first candidacy and went on to be CA’s governor before rerunning for president.

At least, that’s how I remember it.

I agree.

If the GOP can win in 2016 the EPA should receive special attention for downsizing.

I believe Palin supported McCain because of his choice of her for VP and his past support. Clearly, JD was the better candidate but Palin felt obligated to support McCain.

I don’t remember her addressing this but I would bet my reasoning is accurate. For me, I’ll give her a pass on this one. She remains one of our best supporters and standard bearers.

This is also true for many of the FEDGOV regulatory agencies. Where there is overlap, all but one agency/department/directorate should be closed and the costs used to reduce the deficit.

I couldn’t agree more. I don’t think anyone realizes how much overlap and duplication there really is. Nor how many agencies are doing thing never intended. A good place to start would be a 10 to 20% reduction in their funding.

My personal "Best Place to Start" with federal (and state) agencies would require a detailed, objective Cost/Benefit Analysis by an independent outside contractor as a part of their budget request every year.

If they ain't providing more service to the people than they're costing us, they just fold up their little thousand-dollar suitcoats, roll up their sleeves and update their resumes for a job running scams on somebody else.

(I'm sure this is preferable to another option I've considered......although a Weighted Alpha Strike could be just a wee tad over the top even with the current bunch of criminal scumsuckers.)

LOL

I do too, but I’d miss all those pretty buildings and monuments.

....then again, it might be the only option we have and we’ll just have to go in and reconstruct after the dust settles.

add Rob Portman to your list.

He has done absolutely nothing for Ohio, and stumbled into supporting Gay “rights” (and “marriage”) when his son announced her was Gay.

Rob is a joke.

A good place to start would be a 10 to 20% reduction in their funding.

30% reduction in headcount, 50% reduction in personnel cost. That happens by taking out the middle management bureaucrats and leaving the people actually providing the service intended. That applies across all government agencies with very few exceptions.

I’ll put Plan B right up there with my prayers to have California and the West coast fall into the sea due to an earthquake. And if it takes out that area of Mexico I won’t be upset in the least.

True but the problem with the left is it doesn't have to be real just bordering on legal so they can shut down anything they want.
