Word is now circulating around the Catholic world that conservative hero Gary Sinise, along with Fox News anchor Bret Baier, both publicly professed faithful Catholics, cancelled their appearances at a Legatus Summit at the last minute under pressure from the LGBT crowd.
Legatus is the organization of Catholic CEOs founded by pizza billionaire Tom Monaghan to advance the spirituality of Catholic men and women in the higher echelons of American business. The primary work of Legatus and its members is the increased holiness of the members and spreading the gospel within corporate America.
Certainly there is a conservative tinge to the members of Legatus. It is almost inevitable that the CEOs of small and medium sized businesses who are also serious about their faith will tend toward the right politically and also toward tradition in the practice of their faith.
But, there is nothing liberal or conservative about the faith. There is only the faith. The whole of it, even and especially aspects of the faith the outside world finds offensive. Sometimes, with ever-greater frequency, the seamier aspects of outside politics will intrude upon the faith and upon the faithful.
There exists a highly organized cadre of LGBT activists whose job it is to monitor the American people for any deviance from what is approved thought and speech. But more than monitor, their job is rather like advanced scouts so that other LGBTs may then move in to target and punish. Their influence is pernicious, wicked and frankly un-American.

I agree with you. Sinise has done much more for our cause
than most of us. He has his reasons. Frankly there seems
to be an overabundance of conservatives always ready to toss
a perceived back slider to the dogs. Some pretty strident
ones even frequent FR.
Having watched Sinise’s actions over the past years, I’d say they speak louder than Mr. Ruse’s words. I’m not going to change my opinion of him based on a single version of what happened in a single incident.
Because they run HIS business. You have to be queer. But you had better not take sides against them.

I understand that Baier is a Catholic. I read his testimony in a Catholic magazine. But I’m sure I saw him several times wearing a yarmulka on the set of hos news program. Am I losing it?

I have noticed the same thing concerning nothing-negative-about-homosexuality on Fox. I am sure that it is station policy and they have meetings about it. Ditto for our local, mostly conservative talk radio station.
The cowardly, “not my business” attitude is espoused by people who profess to care about the welfare of children and yet they stand mute and even supportive of the rotten lifestyle that is among the worst things that a child could be exposed to.
I mute the audio to keep from getting mad. I could never work in either of those places. I’d be fired within a day. My principles are not for sale and my convictions are not malleable. I will be respectful and diplomatic when possible, but I will NOT be silent.
That being said, I will wait to see what direction Gary Sinise goes from here. He has always had my respect for many reasons. I hope that he will stand up to the mafia at a future time. He may just be choosing his battles.
