The Rev. Al Sharpton was left fuming mad after the Oscars revealed its all-white list of nominees for this year's Oscar awards on Thursday.
"The movie industry is like the Rocky Mountains, the higher you get, the whiter it gets," Sharpton quipped in a statement released later in the afternoon.
Sharpton, a critic of the lack of diversity in Hollywood, also announced he was holding an "emergency meeting" next week to address the issue.

Sidney Potier was nominated for and won an Oscar back in 1964 during turbulent racial times. The difference being Sidney Potier was actually a talented actor.

If producers made a movie where there’s no historical inaccuracy then perhaps maybe .... what’s his problem? They made a black “Annie” and there’s talk about a black James Bond ... they’ve already had a black actor in Wild Wild West and a black Carter in McHale’s Navy ... what else do they want? George Clooney playing Barrack Obama?
Go to Boston and stand in traffic. I think the crowd has been warmed up for you.
And the nominees for Heisman were comprised entirely of Black dudes, save one white guy.
Not to be too picky, but black cars outnumber white cars by at least three to one, in my experience.
The Oscars are still one of the highest rated TV shows of the year.
I was watching a show that involved many interviews with a lot Theoretical Physics types and in spots it looked like a reunion of The Harlem Globetrotters. No trouble finding black Doctors of Physics but “America is racist” and is “holding the black man down”. Whatever.
