This bill is to defund amnesty.

Uh, I think the actual bill was to FUND Homeland Security. Sorry. I don't believe in it. Won't find me getting excited about the destruction of the Republic. You might like it, but I don't.

Now all members of Congress can show whether they represent the American people, whether they respect the Constitution, or if they simply bow to Obama.

You seem to have doubts in the face of overwhelming evidence that they are self serving tyrants.

Now, we’re supposed to believe him about stopping 0bama’s illegal amnesty when he gave 0bama the funding for it?

No you are supposed to believe he tried, fighting valiantly but failed, rest assured next time he will win one for you.

This legislation is a gift to Obama. If it passes the Senate he will veto it. He will then be able to say that his executive actions were legislatively negated by the Congress and he vetoed that legislation as is his Constitutional right. In other words, subjecting his illegal executive actions to legislation only serves to put a veneer of legitimacy on them. The proper response to his actions is impeachment.

In short -- Boehner is an idiot.

I’m waiting for this charade to play out before de-registering as a Republican.

What, only 25 Republicans willing to defend the constitution was not enough for you?

Wow!What you say is ridiculous and false. did you read the article? This bill is to overturn Obama’s unconstitutional amnesty and dream act, 2 dictatorial amnesties for illegals overturned by this bill. This is a great bill . Here is the article:

“House Republicans voted Wednesday to overturn President Obama’s immigration actions from last November — and to unravel a directive from 2012 affecting immigrants who came to the U.S. illegally as children — sending the bill to the Senate where it faces an uncertain fate.

The House voted 236-191 to approve the legislation, which funds the Homeland Security Department through the rest of the budget year to the tune of $40 billion. But as part of that bill, Republicans added provisions to gut the president’s immigration directives.

Despite deep Democratic opposition, the House voted 237-190 on an amendment to undo executive actions Obama announced in November that provide temporary deportation relief, and offer work permits, to some 4 million illegal immigrants.

Another amendment would cancel Obama’s 2012 policy that’s granted work permits and stays of deportation to more than 600,000 immigrants who arrived in the U.S. illegally as kids. That measure passed more narrowly, 218-209, as more than two dozen Republicans joined Democrats in opposition.

Republicans say Obama’s moves amounted to an unconstitutional overreach that must be stopped

From the info you posted:

Question is, did YOU read what you just posted to me? Or, who does tie your shoe laces for you? The vote was TO FUND Homeland Security, DEFUNDING amnesty was simply an amendment to the legislation. So, the GOPe voted to continue subduing the American public via Homeland Security, whilst making it appear they are doing something good by defunding amnesty. Again, no thanks. This is a freedom loving forum. Anyone supporting this nonsense needs to do a real patriotism check.

I thought the pubbies were the party of Freedom?

On another thread someone complained that it just did not make sense — I explained that it actually does if you take the following as true:

  1. The Republican party is about none of what it says it is.
  2. The Republican party is about being elite.
  3. The Republican party does not care about you, Truth, Justice, or the American way — their masters in the Chamber of Commerce don't care about that, so they don't either.
  4. Republicans have no convictions they are willing to stand on; see the above.
  5. Romney is the perfect face for the Republican party; see all the above.

This idiocracy is so corrupt. It’s beyond repair.
Dog and Pony show, all.

Who is John Galt.

I wish there were some ponies in the dog and pony show… all I see in congress is a bunch of dogs.
We need leaders that are willing to pony up, not a bunch of whining bitches ready and willing to roll over for every statist idea that comes along.

In short, there's simply not enough pony.

Before we get there, we need real American Patriot voters...not these RINO loving, abused women who keep getting beat up by the GOPe and running right back to them. There was a thread the other day where a number of FReepers were falling all over themselves about voting for Romney in 2016...REALLY???

Pulling a fast one on us. They know it’ll be vetoed. Obama has all the money he needs to do whatever he wants.

Considering the historical outcome of this exact scenario over the past 6 years, I don’t see how ‘half cocked’ applies. It’s as close to a dead set certainty as it can get without them telling us up front.

Not my opinion on the historical outcomes... The facts of them. I mean the whole reason we have this thread is the perfect track record of the GOP doing exactly what I said above repeatedly in the first place.

Judy can only click her heels so many times before someone realizes it was just a movie.
