The House adopted an amendment Wednesday to freeze a 2012 program allowing illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children to apply for work permits.
Passage fell largely along party lines by a vote of 218-209. But 26 Republicans, many of whom represent districts with large minority populations, voted against the amendment.
Adoption of the amendment onto a $40 billion base funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security makes it unlikely to pass in the Senate, where it will need 60 votes to advance.
The 26 Republicans who voted against the amendment were:

As I see this, it is not the entire budget but a small portion of a budget to fund the homeland security department.
Unlike the last two partial government shutdowns, which for some reason or other were always blamed on the GOP, this withholding of some of the homeland security funding will likely be seen as a politically positive message for the GOP which will be supported by the public.
Thus, I am much more positive about how this is going to play out compared to most on this board.
Well, maybe the Blue Fairy eventually did answer the Kid in AI too and make him a real boy, but since the movie ended, we’ll never know.
I will applaud Boehner at the moment, but I believe this will die in the Senate with the losers there. Ideally, this would head to the president’s desk, where he will cast his veto against the American people.
Well isn’t that the game that never ends? The house makes a big show knowing the senate will kill whatever sent to them, Barry gets protected and his agenda advances and the House then pontificates because they tried ‘real hard’ but their hands are tied?

Around 90% of Republicans had to vote to defund amnesty here to pass this bill in the House as all democrats voted against. that's not good enough for you? what is? 91%? What percentage of a political group voting the right way is good enough for you ? you do realize that in this media created false reality you'll never get 100% of a party to vote against big government. what's scary is that the marxists do get 100% of democrats to vote for socialism for this Obama dictatorial action and for Obamacare. you do realize democrats want to take your guns, freedom,property don't you . why are you for a government bureaucrat making decisions for you?
