He is right. They are not radical, they are simply fundamentalists, the true face of Islam. Those who are moderate are apostate, as deserving of death as we Infidels.
This is a very dangerous thing and people in a place to do so need to demand a correction.
Leftist groups have long been placing conservative groups on their so-called terror lists. What Obama wants to do is use the power granted to fight terrorism against political enemies by very broad definitions of “extremism” and “terrorism.”
To be sure you can find a murderer in any ideological category. But it does not help fight radical islam. These are not broad problems but very isolated ones. The effect of the broad term, however, would be like the anti-racial profiling effect.
On the good side (and it is not good) it will broaden the scope so much that efforts and resources are greatly diluted and ineffective against the real problem.
On the bad side, it will give legal loopholes to those on the left who want extraordinary powers against their political enemies by defining them as ideologically extreme.
