Rick Santorum sounds off on ‘bomb throwers’ Rand Paul, Ted Cruz
Washington Times ^ | January 12, 2015 | David Sherfinski

Posted on 01/12/2015 5:54:35 AM PST by SoConPubbie

Former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania threw a few elbows at several potential rivals for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination, calling possible contenders Sens. Rand Paul of Kentucky and Ted Cruz of Texas “bomb throwers” with little experience.

“Do we really want someone with this little experience?” Mr. Santorum said, referring to Mr. Paul, Mr. Cruz and Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, The New York Times reported. “And the only experience they have basically — not Rubio, but Cruz and Paul because I don’t think Rubio is going to go — is bomb throwing? Do we really want somebody who’s a bomb thrower, with no track record of any accomplishments?”

Doug Stafford, a senior adviser to Mr. Paul, told the paper they would pass on responding to the “alleged wisdom” of someone who lost re-election in 2006 by 18 points and who “has spent the time since then trying to convince people to elect him to an even higher office than the one he was booted out of.”

I am eagerly awaiting those blind Freepers who were in love with the sweater vest geek to apologize to all of us who put up with their insults as we tried to warn them about Santorum......

Bomb throwers like the guy who without a shred of evidence....

...said that Zimmerman, who shot and killed teenager Trayvon Martin
while participating in a neighborhood watch last month,
“has a very sick mind who would pursue someone like this.”
He added that Zimmerman’s motive had been “malicious.”

Poor Ted and Rand. Can’t handle running for President because they are called out by a fellow Republican. If they can’t handle Republicans being critical are they going to cry when the Democratic Party does it. Best to put their big boy pants on if they want to get into politics especially Presidential level. If not then stay in the safety of the Senate where they can spout off things but not have any results.

Jealousy is not an attractive trait. He lost. They won.

They have one exactly one election. Rick won 3 of them. Good Lord you are reaching.

You know, lack of experience is NOT our problem in this country! Being black (or part black) is not either. It’s the poor, insane decisions, the violation of our Constitution and laws, the muslim conditioning, and more, that’s our problem.

Yep. Our problem is TOO MUCH GOVERNMENT. Government was supposed to be a servant. Politicians have been so free-handed in their use of government over the years, so liberal in its application, that government has turned from a servant into a tyrant.

I will vote for candidates who understand that government is the problem and that good righteous Americans left to govern themselves with regard to health care, the environment, free-market moral decisions such as how to deal with openly homosexual folks among us -- Americans served by the government are the ANSWER. Government is the tyrant; it needs to be cut back to servant status, a servant of Christian folks in a free nation founded on CHRISTIAN principles. America is a Christian nation.

This has nothing to do with poor Ted and Rand not handling it. You should get down on your hands and knees every hour and thank God almighty that there’s a government job for you, because with your ability, the private sector would not have you for two minutes.

You are such a shallow and infantile analyzer of fact. your butt boi Rickie is an establishment statist who thumps the Bible to fool the idiots...present company specifically.

I am inclined to be sympathetic to Rick Santorum as a general proposition, as he is a stalwart pro-lifer in a state with a history of pro-abort Republicans (Specter,Ridge, Heinz). When he bashes good men like Ted Cruz, he squanders that good will.

Whatever. At least I am not on welfare like you. I am actually a Walker supporter. You have Rick Santorum roaming in your head. It is so sad what has become of you. Your so petty. You go and ping me on a post and now your panties are in a wad because I answered you. Grow up!!!!

If he’s going to try to cloud the issue like this, I don’t like him.

Bingo.

What overwhelmingly matters most is somebody who understands and supports the Constitutions and who is willing to speak up and fight for it.

Ricky falls a bit short on that so he has to criticize the Senator from Texas who meets those qualifications.

But he does claim to be “conservative”. I hope I never have another opportunity to not vote for him.

Oh, but he IS "conservative," if you define "conservative" as "ruling for Christian values." He's anti-abortion, which for many people is alone enough qualification to be "conservative."

I want "conservative" as in, use government conservatively. Use it sparingly. The CONSERVATIVE use of government. By that definition, Santorum is a liberal because he has a record of endorsing and advancing government, from minimum wage raises (he voted for them SIX TIMES) to using government to bolster unions. Santorum is willing to use government liberally. He helps take the force of government and by using it too liberally, turns it from a servant into a tyrant.

I'm a conservative (that I'm a Christian conservative is beside the point) who will only vote for Republicans or third-party candidates who articulate and understand the goal of using government CONSERVATIVELY.

But you'd still vote for him in the General in 2016 if he was the GOP nominee, wouldn't you?

Santorum needs to realize that he needs to exit the stage and let people run who actually have a chance to win.

Romney, Bush, and Christie need to realize that they need to exit the stage and let people run who actually have a chance to win.

TED CRUZ FOR PRESIDENT!!!

I am glad that Santorum's advisers have counseled this approach for him. It's more honest. His 2016 'threat' is merely to siphon off conservatives fooled by his social conservatism from the real three-legged-stool conservatives like Ted Cruz and Scott Walker.

If he calls Cruz & Paul "bombthrowers" (echoing liberals), that puts him into the moderate camp to compete with Jeb, Mitt & Christie. Good. I hope both Santuckabee and Huckatorum fight like the moderates they are rather than try to fool the voters into thinking they are complete conservatives like the so-called 'bombthrowers' (i.e. complete conservatives) whom they malign.

yeah, I would - but I would hate it. He’s way more liberal than most will admit, and he’s not competent, and he’s not a leader, and he’s not charismatic at all.

your guvmint job IS welfare - compared to my numerous private sector pursuits.....something about which you are clueless.

Glad you’ve graduated from Santorum Huckabee Kindergarten to Walker.....that is a step in the right direction. I’ve got no real problem with Walker other than his inner liberal will sneak out from time to time...but I could happily support him.

But your history here as a shameless and blind Santorum supporter is well known.

the thing about those Republicans who claim others are ‘bomb throwers’ - is they only throw the bombs at other Republicans.

At least Cruz throws his “bombs” at liberals and Democrats - and I bet he will never ever even mention the name Huckatorum or Santuckabee during the year.....

You have ALWAYS hated the military. It is a mystery why. Were you turned down? Was your ASVAB score too low? Are you fat? Something in you hates the military so much. Sad really. The military has allowed you to shoot your mouth off with nonsense for your entire pathetic life.

As far your handclap about Santorum....I am from Pennsylania and supported my Senator. Why you are being nosey on my chose is beyond me. Mind your damn business. Do I look at your voter card? No. I don’t give a damn who you support or vote for. You seem to stalk me a lot. I don’t know a thing about you and don’t want to. You have my entire life known. Kinda sleazy if you ask me.
