Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney , the Republican presidential nominee in 2012, told a meeting of donors Friday that he is considering another White House bid in 2016, people present said.

The possibility of a third Romney bid could upend the emerging GOP field, coming as top Republican donors are starting to rally behind former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

Mr. Romney made the remarks during a session Friday afternoon -SNIP-

What part of ... he couldn’t even beat a loser president running a losing economy ... doesn’t he get. I consider myself more of a moderate than most on this board and even I do not want this guy in the race.

That was not my take on the last nomination. -Not there weren't a few yahoos he managed to win over here, but what I saw was different factions getting behind on flavor of the month or another and ganging up on whichever conservative was leading in the polls.

We got so hung up on ideological purity that the worst possible candidate didn't have to do much except avoid throwing up all over himself. This time at least, he will have a formidable match in Bush, and perhaps Christie.

The point is to get behind one candidate on the other side of the party. Early. From where I was sitting, it really sucked hearing how Santorum, Bachmann, Cain, and (yes, even) Gingrich and Perry were not conservative enough. Regularly. Because all it accomplished was to make the worst possible choice inevitable.

And, for that reason, I see his decision as good news for conservatives.

Good, he’ll loose by a bigger margin next time. It doesn’t seem to mater to them. Get rid of the ole farts already, give us some new blood who will eat Hillary alive.

What purity? Even I, the so called purist, was ready to vote Gingrich.

The problem was a LACK of purity. You had people ready to accept anything and millions of shouts of ‘no matter what and lesser evil.

So ultimately they got the ‘lesser evil’ they wanted. And THEN the more conservative candidate that many rationalized about, won.

Because lets face the facts. Their records in office were mirrors except for one glaring difference. One of the two was opposed to gay marriage while a Senator in office. Guess which?

Run, Mitt, Run! The GOPe has lost control of the RINO herd. Bush, Christie, and Romney --three candidates and counting.

This is great news.

He would eliminate Jeb and Rubio (who inherited some of his key staff members), so let him run.

Cruz and Rand would benefit because of the stark contrasts and "new car smell".

Oh yeah, for all you who don’t know: The new word is “Librino”...It’s a word that sounds Italian. It’s pronouced “Le-bry-no”...It’s a combination of the word “Liberal” and “RINO”. It means the same thing because it is. Liberals are the same as RINOs. So what we got here is another Librino action - The Librinos are pushing Romney for POTUS in a pathetic attempt to make the populace believe they have a variety in choices when in fact they do not, it’s all the same thing . This country is a one party country run exclusively by the Librino party. As we near 2016 the Librino party in conjunction with the Librino propaganda machine that use to be know as the US press, will start with a bunch of Librino candidates. Anyone who claims they are conservative will immediately be destroyed in the press, usually by sexual rumors without a shred of evidence, and then the Librino press will ignore said conservative candidate until he or she drops out, then the Librino press will focus 100% on the Librino candidates until 2 Librino candidates are chosen, and they will have faux Librino debates until one Librino candidate is chosen for POTUS. This is exactly how our election system runs today and why we need a “million man armed march” on Washington. A million armed and ready citizens marching on Washington physically removing every last one of these Librinos. That’s what has got to happen if this country is to be saved.

You don’t honestly think that do you?

I mean sucking up all the oxygen with a full RINO press only gives moral cowards more options to vote for instead of conservatives.

I hope Jerry Jones gives him a red sweater and starts a new bromance. That will drive a stake thru any GOP wannabe.

I don't believe in gay marriage, but given the problems that the country was facing (and continues to face), it wasn't as big a litmus test for me as it was for some. It is, however, a good example of the problem that we are sure to face in the upcoming election: Any time any potentially acceptable candidate says something regrettable, he gets destroyed. We both watched it happen again and again.

My candidate in the last election was "Not Romney." This time around, it will be "Not Bush or Romney."

My criteria start with "Can he beat Hillary?"
