Revolution: Only 16% of GOP Voters Support Boehner and McConnell for Leadership of New Congress

A second round of poll results from a survey of Republican voters taken Christmas week was released on Sunday. The poll shows that a revolution is at hand with a stunning majority of 2014 GOP voters who gave their party control of both houses of Congress ready to throw out the Republican leaders of both houses in favor of new leadership.

Only sixteen percent of voters surveyed want both John Boehner and Mitch McConnell to serve as leaders of the House and Senate respectively when the 114th Congress convenes this week. Boehner’s support on his own for Speaker of the House of Representatives is a pitiful twenty-five percent while McConnell’s support for Senate Majority Leader is just as bad at twenty-seven percent.

A shocking nine out ten GOP voters have no faith in political leaders of either party.

Ninety-one percent agreed with the statement, “Political leaders are more interested in protecting their power and privilege than doing what is right for the American people.”

Eighty-nine percent agreed with the statement, “The power of ordinary people to control our country is getting weaker every day, as political leaders on both sides fight to protect their own power and privilege, at the expense of the nation’s well-being.”

Seventy-nine percent do not believe, “the US government is working for the people’s best interests.”

Eighty-seven percent believe the country is on the wrong track.

The latest poll results on Boehner come two days before he stands for reelection as Speaker.

Two Republicans announced over the weekend they would be running against Boehner for the Speakership, Ted Yoho of Florida and Louie Gohmert of Texas.

As Republican House Members decide who to vote for, they will undoubtedly take into consideration these numbers for Boehner that show what little regard their Republican voters have for his Speakership:

Only twenty-four percent believe Boehner has been “…effective in opposing Obama’s agenda.”

Only thirty-seven percent trust Boehner to “fight for the issues that are most important to Republicans.”

Only forty-three percent of Republican voters believe Boehner “has the best interests of the American people at heart, rather than special interests.”

More poll results are expected to be released on Monday. Word is the results on amnesty are “devastating.”

The results released Sunday show seventy-five percent of GOP voters “voted for a Republican for Congress to stop President Obama’s amnesty for illegal immigrants.”

Eighty-one percent “voted for a Republican for Congress to stop Obamacare.”

The People’s Poll of 602 Republicans or 2014 GOP voters was conducted by EMC Research and supervised by Caddell & Associates during December 26-30, 2014 with a margin of error of four percent.

Meaning the margin of error is negligible with regard to the stunning lack of support for Boehner and McConnell.

And the key thing here is - the importance of what the “voters’ think about this issue is zero.zero.

Well, if that distaste were to be transferred to their Congressmen and Senators, then Boner and Turtleman would be riding the back bench.

I presume the 16% hail from the extra-chromosome wing of the party.

We already know that.

What we will soon know is the true conservatives from the fake ones
on their vote on leadership.

The first poll came out days ago.

Then Gohmert announced he was running for speaker.

Now another poll is released.

The conservative nation is paying attention to how their reps votes.

The fake conservatives will soon be exposed.

I can’t imagine why ANYONE would like either of them, especially Boehner. Though he’s an establishment dirt bag, I’m willing to give McConnell a little more benefit of the doubt, since he has to maneuver in the Senate with all of its rules. However, I wouldn’t have been sad to see him go.

Why? Don’t leaders make the rules? Harry had no issue with it.

Thats right. Mitch swore to return power to the minority. I forgot.

Agreed.

Boehner needs a golden parachute-maybe he can join his old friend Eric Cantor on K Street.

Exactly.

The GOP Ruling Class Oligarchy has told us they intend to crush Conservatives wherever we are found, punch us in the nose and assert that we will never be able to field a candidate nominee anywhere in the country.

They can care less what a poll has to say.

They know where the power now lies, and they are going to do whatever it takes to share in it.

Polls and elections are now moot. It’s all a rigged game. We went Soviet, and we lie to ourselves that elections matter because to grapple with the truth of where we have arrived would necessitate a course of action few-to-none are willing to even contemplate.

Boehner and Co. are the perfect embodiment of the new nomenklatura.

Complete mediocrities in almost every respect, except for grasping at-and obtaining-power.

These polls are nice, Kristinn. But unless he has 30 oppose him, they mean nothing, and that is unlikely in the extreme. And I could actually see him accepting a few Democrats to get him there, a la Joe Straus in Texas.
