My Rolex connects me to my father whenever I put it on. Amazing how a timepiece will do this....
Fascinating! This is why I would have to pay someone else to do it, and why I wear a Timex digital watch.
Just think, back in the days when names like Hamilton, Waltham and Elgin were king, this went on every day in thousands of shops all across the country.
And Rolex was nobody.
I’ve seen some crazy setups in my day as well. My favorite was an offsite accounting office that had an IBM HS21 BladeCenter sitting on a $50 WalMart office desk in a remodeled bathroom. They jury-rigged a heat elimination system the likes of which I’ve never seen again in my professional experience.
The best part was that their “VMware guy” knew nothing about the configuration. He “wasn’t a server engineer.”
How many times do you have to disassemble/reassemble a VW bug before you have enough parts left over to build a spare?

My question is....... if the watch is good down to 300 meters, why does it need to be cleaned?
How often do those things break?
What else has the repair man got to do? He's like the Maytag repairman.
I have a Waltham pocket watch that belonged to my granddad. My mom had it cleaned and sent it to me several years ago. It fluctuates about 45 minutes, so I don’t carry it, but it’s really cool to watch it work, and listen to the ticking.
