Guns Confiscated after Man Seeks Insomnia Treatment

The allegations in the case are downright scary. The complaint contends that Montgomery, a Navy veteran and retired police officer who rose to the rank of detective sergeant during his 30-year career, voluntarily sought treatment for insomnia at a hospital on Long Island in May of 2014 after relocating to a new home several hundred miles from his previous residence.

According to the suit, the hospital diagnosed the plaintiff as “mildly depressed,” and his clinical evaluation stated, “Patient has no thoughts of hurting himself. Patient has no thoughts of hurting others. Patient is not having suicidal thoughts. Patient is not having homicidal thoughts…” and “there is no evidence of any psychotic processes, mania, or OCD symptoms. Insight, judgment, and impulse control are good.” The suit further alleges that a psychiatrist told the plaintiff, “I don’t know why you were referred here. You don’t belong here.”

I spent 3 days in a hospital, hooked up for 48 hours to see what was going on with my brain. From that, I was diagnosed with primary generalized epilepsy, which isn’t any form of depression, anxiety or mental retardation. It just means there were fluctuations with the electricity in my brain. It’s all fixed with anti-seizure medication; my seizures used to happen 5-7 times each night, which made trying to go to sleep terrifying, because it felt like I was dying.

In Cuomo’s Democratic People’s Republic of New York, it’s probably considered depression.

There is no situation in which I would move to NY or Massachusetts. There is no situation in which I would see a shrink or see any doctor for any condition that could be correctly or incorrectly diagnosed as psychological. Doctors are people you see for surgery or for a specific prescription when you already know what the problem is, not for trouble sleeping.

Montgomery probably ‘suffers’ from a Cadillac health insurance plan, retired LEO you know. i.e. use the tax payer funded benefit as often as possible. i.e. he deserves what he gets to some extent.

“Insomnia. I would think they would want him to spend the night to see his sleep habits.”

Maybe he was at a sleep clinic at the horsepistol.

Peace, TangoLimaSierra,

Remember, gun registration never leads to confiscation.

Take care with long-term Prednisone, Prednisolone, and their derivatives: it can cause the lack of sleep, and the end result can be a serious Depression including suicidal ideation.

“...People often don’t realize how important sleep is to your mental and physical health.
Get the sleep issue resolved and most of the other problems will go away....”

Two months ago, I’d have passed right over your post and thought nothing of it.
I went in for a sleep test. I was diagnosed and am now being treated for sleep apnea.
For years, my wife wanted me to get tested. I finally went.
First night on the CPAP was the best night’s sleep I’d had in 30+ years. You are correct, once the sleep issue was resolved, a bunch of other nuisance issues all went away.

However, with that said. Over the holidays, we drove to Maine to see my ailing father. We had to pass thru parts of Maryland, Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts.
I timed the fuel and food stops such that not a single penny was spent in any of those communist states other than for road tolls. No food, gas or lodging expenses were incurred in any of em. Hell would freeze over 2’ thick before we’d ever live or work in any of em.

Who will we “BLAME” for this “GOVERNMENT OVER STEP”? How about the guy that registered his weapon? Is there any one here that still believe that the government is here to “PROTECT” you? Ever since the 1990’s, every citizen in this country, should realize that their government is out to “CONTROL” it’s citizens, for their own good, of course. The government, whether city, county, state or federal have been passing laws that are blatantly UNCONSTITUTIONAL and not one of it’s citizens have made any complaint. Unless every law abiding citizen, from every city, county, state begin to remove ALL these politicians that are passing all these UNCONSTITUTIONAL laws, we will all become slaves of the state, instead of being the masters of these politicians. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, but I don’t think the warnings will do any good.

That’s kind of hard when you need chemo, like I do.

"That’s kind of hard when you need chemo, like I do."

Well, if you need Chemo, then all considerations of 'big government/big brother' are probably secondary to you. I'd get it, and worry about the other stuff later. Best wishes for you. I hope you have a good prognosis.(I know what a bad prognosis is like, and its sort of like a sledge hammer to the stomach)

There’s a reason a lot of Veteran’s are reluctant to go for help with depression and PTSD...

Thank you. I’m actually doing quite well. My first round of
chemo is finished, and the nurses told me that the first is the
worst, so the next sixteen sessions, every three weeks, should
be a piece of cake.

I haven’t had any adverse reactions or allergies to any of the
drugs. Thank you for your well wishes about my prognosis.
The cancer was completely removed during my surgery, since
it was Stage 1, but I tested positive for the HER-2 cancer gene,
so my oncologist prescribed chemo. I follow instructions and
doctor’s orders. I’m going to be fine.

The law be damned. During my ten years in Minnestoopid, I delivered full disinformation when subjected to the battery of questions. Full libtard. No, I don’t have any guns! They are icky and scary! When the nurse talks down to me like I am an eight year old, it was clear that I was dealing with the enemy.
