US vet says fighting in Syria was as easy as buying airplane ticket to Miami

EXCLUSIVE: All it took was a plane ticket, and an informal background check over Facebook. Then he was ushered to the front lines in Syria, fighting against the Islamic State.

In a rare, exclusive interview with Fox News, a U.S. military veteran with multiple tours in Iraq detailed his journey to Syria to fight against ISIS, on the condition his identity was protected.

The veteran, who asked to be identified as “John,” described a surprisingly simple process that took him from America to the dangerous Syrian civil war – and not as part of the U.S. military.

"I just went online and bought a ticket. It was that easy. It was like booking a flight to Miami Beach," said “John.”

Then he found a Kurdish group known as the YPG

Someone might if they wanted the thrill to kill.

Someone might ALSO do it to try and slow the systematic slaughter of the Christians in Iraq - You know, the thousands of men, women and children - CHRISTIANS - whose HOMELAND is Iraq, where they've lived for some 3,000 years and BEEN CHRISTIANS for 2,000 years -

You know, the ones that OUR administration has turned it's back on and refuses to help - after doing not one thing to stop ISIS from raging into Iraq - into Mosul - giving them hundreds of American MRAPS, allowing them to 'capture' tens of thousands of AMERICAN rifles/rockets/ammo from a warehouse that just happened not to have anyone guarding it that particular night - allowing them to build up a real military force with cart blanche access...

You know - The Christians that were chased onto the mountain top, hundreds slaughtered, and beheaded - including children - along the way, - trapped by Isis - dying from starvation and dehydration - while we did NOTHING? -

You know - the ancient Chaldean CHRISTIANS, (who still speak ancient Arabic), who have now gotten off the mountain but are still not far from Mosul, in a huge 'tent city' and surrounded with immanent attack, who have plead for aid - to no avail?

You know - of course you do...NOT

There ARE some people, especially vets from Iraq and Afghanistan who don't have blinders on - who will put it on the line once again to protect the innocents - especially since their plight is due to our abandonment...which is also an abandonment of all the fighting ans sacrifice of our troops - a real slap in the face.

Just maybe some of the vets feel SOMEONE should help these people...and not becasue they are looking for the "THRILL TO KILL"

Of course you know - or are you just an

Good rant, fact is, there could be a number of reasons for someone to do this, I only offered one perspective, I could offer others.

Well, yeah, and who wouldn’t go to Kurdistan/Iraq/Syria in the winter rather than hang out in Florida? ;’)

Well, I’m in Iraq and I can assure you the US is doing ‘something’ to protect the civilians in Iraq (all types). We’re blowing the crap out of ISIS 24/7 using coordinated strike OPs.

If you’d kept up on current events you’d have read that there are many nations in Iraq now staging into former bases with more troops arriving every week. IMO the 2009 withdrawl is essentially reversed.

“If you’d kept up on current events”...

“IMO the 2009 withdrawl is essentially reversed.”

Which is EXACTLY why very few in the U.S. are hearing anything about this. This destroys over a decade of Democrat-pimped media narratives.

From several New Years Eve conversations, I can anecdotally attest that VERY few Americans know we have taken casualties fighting ISIS, or that US troops are now fighting ISIS with BOOTS ON THE GROUND.

To my knowledge neither US or coalition troops are fighting ISIS. The Iraqis and Peshmerga are doing the ground fighting. Basically, we blow stuff up in coordination with them and they move in and reclaim an area. Then we move in behind them and setup logistics and other support in preparation for the next coordinated push. It’s worked great and there’s nothing ISIS can do but melt away. If they assemble for an operation, even a defensive one they get surrounded, blown up and scattered. So they hide. When they’re discovered they run or die -or a combination thereof.

Pitched battles are few and and involve Iraqi ground forces rather than US or coalition.

Basically, the only ‘US’ and coalition entities in direct contact with ISIS is ordinance.

“To my knowledge neither US or coalition troops are fighting ISIS.”

American troops battle ISIS for first time as they see off attempted attack by militants on Iraqi base

-Islamic State militants attempted to overrun Ein al-Asad base on Sunday
-US support troops and advisers killed an unknown number of the militants
-The troops were supported during the battle by F18 fighter jets
-ISIS forced to retreat after suffering casualties during two hour firefight

Thats funny, I’d have thought that there just wouldn’t be any room at the front, with all the “good muslums” lined up by the millions to fight to defend Islam and innocent muslums against the islamic extremists who defile the koran’s teachings for their own purposes.
