EXCLUSIVE — SEAN HANNITY CALLS FOR TREY GOWDY TO REPLACE BOEHNER AS SPEAKER, GOWDY DECLINES
Breitbart ^ | December 30, 2014 | by MATTHEW BOYLE

Posted on 12/30/2014 5:01:53 PM PST by Jim Robinson

Fox News host Sean Hannity, also a nationally-syndicated radio host, tells Breitbart News exclusively that he thinks Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) should challenge Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) for the Speakership of the House.

“The American people need bold inspiring solutions to reverse the damaging policies of the President and his party,” Hannity said in an email. “This is not a time for half measures. It’s time for new dynamic leadership in the House of Representatives. Trey Gowdy is my choice for speaker. He has the ability to articulate and implement the changes needed to get the country on the right path.”

Gowdy has a “plan to balance the budget, secure the borders, push for energy independence and replace Obamacare with personal healthcare savings accounts,” Hannity said, adding that Boehner has burned conservatives far too much.

“John Boehner has snubbed and ignored conservatives for too long, as evidenced by the recent cromnibus budget deal he made with Obama, Reid and Hoyer,” Hannity said. “It’s time he step aside for the good of country and the conservative movement.”

Gowdy, through spokeswoman Amanda Duvall, declined the invitation from Hannity to challenge Boehner.

“Rep. Gowdy has said his time and attention will continue to be devoted to the work assigned to him,” Duvall said in an email in response to Hannity’s quote. “He is not interested in any leadership positions and believes one can have influence without the title.”

Gowdy does not want to give up his new big office (for a broom closet) or his seee-lect committee

That’s because TREY knows he’s not a true immigration-fighter like Gohmert. GET A CLUE!

“Right now, I’ve been meeting with a small group, and we — about 16, 18 — and we’re hoping to have a name of a sitting member of Congress that we can call out their name,” Rep. Walter Jones (R-NC), a top rebel and opponent of Boehner’s, said in a radio interview before Christmas."

I hope to be putting up some info tonight or tomorrow on a grassroots/rank and file effort to dump Boehner. Will post it in breaking soon as I can.

It might work better of they all vote for Pelosi and then we have real gridlock.

I think the guy is afraid to go against the machine.
Sad we are at a point where trying to serve the best interest of the country is set aside by beltway types mostly serving whatever gives them power and grows their personal wealth.

Trey Gowdy is also pro-amnesty.

I’d go after Marsha Blackburn. Female opponent could play the female card against both Obama and Boehner.

Marsha Blackburn

•Voted YES on building a fence along the Mexican border. (Sep 2006)
•Voted YES on preventing tipping off Mexicans about Minuteman Project. (Jun 2006)
•Voted YES on reporting illegal aliens who receive hospital treatment. (May 2004)
•Rated 100% by FAIR, indicating a voting record restricting immigration. (Dec 2003)
•Rated 100% by USBC, indicating a sealed-border stance. (Dec 2006)
•Government services in English only. (Mar 2008)
•Rated A by the ALI, indicating a strongly anti-amnesty stance. (Nov 2010)
•Declare English as the official language of the US. (Feb 2007)

He fears DC more than he fears the voters of his district.

That needs to change.

I will be looking very closely at how conservatives vote on leadership votes.

The fake conservatives will be flushed out if the vote for Bonehead.

And this amnesty also favors all lawbreakers mostly from Mexico which is racist.
Why not some equal representation from around the world of all races instead?

In my opinion, pro-amnesty is open borders, and open borders is anti-sovereignty of separate nations. Closet one-worlders....Jeb Bush.

Trey Gowdy would be fine with me, but on the whole I'd rather not see him saddled with all the admin duties of Speaker. It could divert him from what he does so well, using his powers of cross-examination to reduce pompous bureaucrats and chatterers to incoherence.

"Dia shábháil ar fad anseo!"
This is the Arabic character "nun" – the first letter of the word "Nazarene." I post it as my avatar in solidarity with people of all faiths suffering persecution at the hands of Islam. Many of them are members of the oldest of our Christian Communities, dating from the days of the Apostles. They endure cruel, merciless and unrelenting persecution. They are Orthodox and Catholic, Protestant and Evangelical, Coptic, Pentecostal, and Baptist. To the persecutors they, and we, are all "Nazarenes."

We conservatives don't need our guys tied up with petty stuff that the Speaker must handle.

That's why Denny Hastert was a pretty good Speaker as it was, being a former high school wrestling coach.

Speakers need to dance on the head of a pin to keep all or almost all GOPs together and that's a thankless task.

You really need someone who is on your team but with enough humility not to get in the way of the egomaniacs in the House, someone who's ego is healthy enough not to be overshadowed by the "stars" everywhere but also firm enough to stick up for the non-establishment members.

all Gowdy did was hold hearings. He didn’t bring attention to the findings. He hasn’t sought to punish the IRS or those involved.
Basically he hasn’t shown ruthless Conservative leadership qualities so don’t see why Hannity and some others are giving him support.

Well, they can make accidents happen or make someone vanish, so he has a real threat going against the flow.

Has to happen before change comes.
