America needs to study the enemy within, the headline hovering above the LA Times op-ed advises. Which raises the simple question: who would that be? Although Pulitzer Prize-winning UCLA geography professor Jared Diamond’s article doesn’t come right out and say it, it’s you and me, baby. Diamond warms up with a cautionary tale of Chile’s disastrous de-evolution into a military dictatorship. And then draws the parallel with modern day America . . .

29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

Diamond is the enemy within.

White House is linked right into the LA Times news-room.

I would bet my nest egg on the fact the LAT news room has a "government grade encryption link" right to the WH press room. But in the most transparent admin ever, will never allow us little pee ons to know. Welcome to "1984"

I had an inlaw remark to me that I scared him. I felt good about that. He was an out of work architect. I asked him if he had read any of Ayn Rand books. He missed the irony.

Why yes, we are their enemy. And it would serve them well to remember that and leave us the hell alone.

This is the third of these such articles within the last week.
I smell a presidential executive order coming down the pike.

I just wish more people would understand their rights end when they restrict another person’s Constitutional Rights.

The Times will still not release a tape of øbola at an event in which he evidently gave the terrorist Rashid Khalidi the speaker’s equivalent of a bj. His communist pal Bill Ayres was there too.

Imagine what the Times would do had this been some RINO. McCain suddenly comes to mind.

When her time comes, her family would do well to have her interred in a vault up high on a mausoleum wall. If they instead choose to plant her at ground level, I'll finally have a good reason to visit California.

And the prelude to the visit will involve lots of beer, I'm sure.

Tried to access the link, was unable to do so at my local Taco Bell, “Domain Blocked, Category: Weapons”. Asa libertarian (flame me if you must), one issue I agree with you guys on is the Second Amendment, and I was hoping someone could tell me if this website is being blocked my the network admin of my local Taco Bell, or at the ISP level if possible? BTW, I attempted to bypass it via proxy, but they apparently blocked that as well...

We don't want you to have a gun if you don't want one.

I can't really agree with you there. While I wouldn't try to force firearms on anybody, I really do want all law abiding citizens to be armed. Joe Biden and I agree on this one: Get a shotgun (I think 20 guage is perfect because the recoil is low enough for almost all family members to use comfortably, while still having ample firepower to deal with threats.)

Certainly not a history professor. The schmuck isn’t bowing down to a King because of citizens with guns.

Meanwhile, our politicians have been increasingly unwilling or unable to craft compromises. The most recent Congress passed fewer laws than any Congress in decades.

He says that like it’s a bad thing.

And it would be a good thing if Obama and his pen hadn’t been so busy pushing out laws without congress’s approval

Well, if you’re a supporter of big government and believe a person becomes a god simply by entering politics, then yes, a gun owner is probably one of your worst enemies.

Its sad that he wrote a clever work like Guns, Germs, and Steel, yet he cant figure out the fact that conquest is made VERY difficult if a target population is armed to the teeth.
