LA Times: American Gun Owners Are the Enemy Within

America needs to study the enemy within, the headline hovering above the LA Times op-ed advises. Which raises the simple question: who would that be? Although Pulitzer Prize-winning UCLA geography professor Jared Diamond’s article doesn’t come right out and say it, it’s you and me, baby. Diamond warms up with a cautionary tale of Chile’s disastrous de-evolution into a military dictatorship. And then draws the parallel with modern day America . . .

BS! When people fear the government, you have tyranny. When the government fears the people (thank you gun owners), you have liberty. Or something close to it. I do not own a gun and am not overly fond of them. That being said, I always vote for the most pro-2nd Ammendment candidates available. My personal choices should not be imposed upon ANYONE. Unfortunately for the LA Times, according to the reported stats one can deduce that a large number of new “enemies within” were added to the rolls in the last week or so, while others had their equipment - or arsenals, to use a word the Times will go apoplectic over - reinforced or upgraded. Oops!

The LATimes. Isn’t that the fake “news”paper that’s still covering up the video of O celebrating with his islamoNazi comrade friends and pals ? (A paper that squandered an amazing near- monopoly franchise over America’s second- largest media market, by polluting it’s “news” articles with its political biases and outright propaganda ). Still good for wrapping fishes, however, also lining birdcages and kitty litter boxes.

It's hard to think of Diamond as a geographer but easy to see him as a fixture at UCLA. The only geography I saw in his prize winning book was that islands are generally far apart and Europe somehow developed nasty and aggressive (white) people.

Now that I see it was Jared Diamond, I know. And I don’t see it as a negative that people like him view people like me as an enemy.
