Anna Kooiman asked former FAA spokesperson Scott Brenner if the real reason the AirAsia plane had disappeared was because of the different way other countries train their pilots"

Tut, tut.
Losses = 2 under US Standard system
Losses = 1 under Metric system
I have been realigned after exposure to Grandkid’s Common Core.
Yeah, but some people here - who may not have watched the show this morning - just aren’t getting it. I wonder if they’re envious women?
Hey remember the lens on the Hubble? Quite a failure to convert screw up!
Nice teeth
Plus a 767 filled with cattle having to make an UNPOWERED LANDING in Canada,
Dang! Is that on youtube?
She raised the question; does culture matter how pilots and airlines operate.
In other words, do some airline’s pilots needs to ask permission from someone higher in the line of command to modify the flight to avoid hazards like weather and wait for a response.
Why the hell would you ship cattle on a 767? Were they prize cattle on the way to or from a show or something?
Well...... Did you ever try to ship them on a Cesna?
Pack mentality.
Frankly I think its good that she is asking questions. Its kinda what she’s supposed to do.
Better than that Rachael Maddow clown. She would probably declare the plane was overburdened with testosterone in the nose and only a lesbian could have saved it.
There was a plane that dang near crashed because of the differences between pounds and kilos of fuel. A plane headed to the US refueled in Canada, had problems with changes in fuel measurements, ran out of fuel. Had to glide in, was diverted to an abandoned airfield used for car racing, etc. people on the ground barely avoided getting hit as they couldn’t hear the p,and coming in.
Yes, these things happen.
You’re talking about the “Gimli Glider” incident. There were human passengers on board. Also, an auto race event was in progress — with plenty of vehicles and people on the abandoned airstrip used for the emergency landing. That certainly complicated things — it was a miracle no one was killed.
BTW, one of the reasons that Canada converted to metric was because we were led to believe that the U.S.A. was about to do so. Boy, did we get suckered on that one!
All 61 passengers on the Gimli Glider were human.
As were the 8 crew.
The Gimli Glider.
Fuel loading was miscalculated due to a misunderstanding of the recently adopted metric system which replaced the imperial system.

‘I personally believe that Asia Asians are unable to do so, because ah, some ah, people out there in their nation don’t have metirc maps....”
I’m glad you clarified that. I was wondering if they’re moving cows on airplanes now! No wonder the price of beef is so high! lol
LMAO. Well, the pay is better...for awhile.
Sorry, cattle is the term we use in the business. I figured others knew it.
“...so they put in liters instead of gallons.”
Doesn’t something as expensive as a 767 have a fuel gauge? And besides, I thought they measured onboard fuel by weight, not volume.
