Don’t buy it. I don’t really care what a person who allows his hatred for one to influence his respect for others believes. But consider several facts. There were 25,000 officers out there. Maybe 5% turned their backs. DeBlasio and Pat Lynch nodded to each other as they exited the church. Lynch has said nothing about DeBlasio’s attendance even though Pat is known well for never holding back his feelings. Maybe he felt the Ramos family did not need any drama or conflict to overshadow their sorrow over their loss. Clearly you do not hold that opinion. I would hope you would at the very least understand it.
What I understand is the NYPD being angry that two officers were killed because of politics and racebaiting. It has nothing to do with hatred. It has everything to do with calling out the liars and drawing a line. Those who use the politics of hatred are the racebaiters and it’s time to say “No more!”
Was it not in fact the Ramos family in which the murdered officer’s son said his father had been the best dad in the world?
The Ramos family at least knew about class; perhaps the Lius do too but Chinese culture is more reserved.
A funeral isn’t about the deceased and isn’t even about a family, when it comes down to it. A funeral is about God who “gives and takes away” and yet “blessed be His name.” Did God ever say to forbid De Blasio to appear?
