Roy Cooper, the state attorney general and a Democrat [...] says he does not support the pro-life law but believes it is his office’s obligation to defend laws the state legislature passes.

Wow - a Democrat doing his job rather than imposing his ideology.

What’s the issue with allowing women to see an ultrasound if they choose to or to be informed of the risks of an abortion?
I though they were pro choice?

The North Carolina Attorney General will appeal a federal appeals court’s ruling striking down a North Carolina law allowing women a chance to see an ultrasound of their unborn child before an abortion is done.

So the women are forbidden to see an ultrasound?

They’re afraid the women will see a baby and choose not to have an abortion. “Pro-choice” people can never allow that!

By the wording of this court ruling, government should not be allowed to put warning labels on cigarettes either, as that is also an imposition of speech.

So the author was being dishonest it seems.

“”appeal a federal appeals court’s ruling striking down a North Carolina law allowing women a chance to see an ultrasound “”

I sure dislike it when people on our side are so indifferent to the truth.

Abortionists want complete control of the message that women walking into their facilities receive. They want to make sure women make only one decision, and strongly oppose informed choice laws for that reason. The only way they will show a high-quality ultrasound is if required to by law. Sometimes, they will show ultrasounds, but adjust the settings so that all the woman sees is formless show.

Many years ago, in college biology class, the teacher showed videos of babies in the womb, highlighting several stages of development. Somehow, a camera had been inserted into the womb to take living pictures of the babies. I remember one girl who, upon watching the videos, became quite glum and sat quietly, staring down at her folded hands. My impression was that at that point, she learned exactly what she had done by exercising her “right to choose.”

It’s a shame she wasn’t informed of that *before* she exercised her “choice.”

I fully support ultrasounds being mandatory and of the highest quality and whatever else we can do.

My point is how dishonest this author is, she should not be writing for us.

Abortion- the only medical procedure women can’t be informed about in detail.

Have a back surgery and the woman patient views with the doctor all ultrasound/mri/xray reports. To not to do so is considered malpractice.

The liberal establishment wishes to exterminate the native American population and replace it with more politically malleable foreigners.

I don’t believe new Americans are necessarily more malleable politically than native born Americans. But I do believe the liberal establishment has this as one of its motives, and liberals are inherently far more racist than conservatives.
Division by groups is there stock in trade.

I am from NC and am surprised that Roy Cooper is going to appeal the decision of the SCOTUS. He did not choose to defend the law passed by 60% of the citizens of the state declaring marriage to be between one man and one woman. In fact, he absolutely refused to do so. Since he does nothing without an eye to the effect it will have on his political ambitions, he must have done a poll that told him this would be the best thing to do for his 2016 gubernatorial race.
