http://www.thesaurus.com/browse/mercurial"mercurial";
Antonyms for "mercurial" include "calm".
(De Blasio is married to a lesbian, so contradiction in a story about him probably doesn't raise reporters' eyebrows.)

It’s pretty telling when the vaunted “Gray Lady’’ has people witting articles for it and who demonstrate an ignorance or simple laziness to take a mere moment or two to consult a dictionary to understand the meaning of a word. In this case two words that mean two entirely opposing things.

It reads like a random jargon generator. Feed it the buzzwords, out comes platitiudes or praise. Same program Obama’s speechwriters have been using.
