How to Save the GOP From Boehner [A big-name conservative should move now into Ohio's 8th]
Fairfax Free Citizen ^ | December 21, 2014 | Jonathon Moseley

Powerful GOP leader Eric Cantor was defeated by Dave Brat in Virginia’s Republican Primary mainly over amnesty for illegal aliens and over-spending. Now is it time for some famous conservative to rent a townhouse just outside Springfield, Ohio, and start campaigning against Speaker of the House John Boehner in the 8th Congressional District (C.D.)?

People will believe that the campaign manager who knocked off Eric Cantor can do it again to John Boehner. We should field Zachary Werrell, the brilliant young campaign manager who engineered Brat’s astonishing upset over Cantor, despite being vastly outspent.

Establishment Republicans have already betrayed their campaign promises and lurched back to their liberal base course. Immediately after Republican victories, they passed the “CRomnibus Bill” spending $1.1 trillion in fiscal year 2015 and fully funding Obamacare and Obama’s unconstitutional executive order amnesty. Boehner allowed Obama and outgoing Democrat leaders to tie the hands of the new Republican Congress for a year.

In January, Republicans will seat more Congressmen in the U.S. House than at any time in 83 years. Yet with 69 of the nation’s 99 legislative houses now controlled by the GOP, Boehner and soon-to-be Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell flipped the Republican Party the middle finger.

By contrast, there are plenty of charismatic, popular, and conservative Republican leaders like Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Mike Lee, and more. They are fighting hard to implement the Republican Party’s core goals. There are far more honest Republicans than the small inner circle leading the Party astray.

The GOP has been hijacked by the “Consultant-Lobbyist-Establishment Complex” (CLEC), argues Pat Caddell, a Democrat but a conservative campaign expert. Insider consultants lie to major donors to fund expensive campaigns doomed to fail, Caddell alleges. Caddell calls them “Racketeering Consultants” who are close to violating the RICO law. That is, consultants make a lot more money from the most expensive campaign tactics, so they sell donors on campaigns that make them rich but fail. This CLEC clique has useful puppets like John Boehner brainwashed.

So are you ready to think outside the box? Conservatives are upset with Republican leaders in Congress and GOP candidates for not using all the tools available to them and not being creative in finding new solutions to stubborn and difficult problems. So are we using all our tools? Conservative activists need to be innovative, open-minded, creative, and persistent in finding the key levers of power and influence. Are you doing what you want our leaders to do?

I nominate, for the sake of discussion, Christine O’Donnell. I’m not optimistic she would do it, even though she has understood in the past the priority of saving the country. But if you have a better suggestion, let’s hear it. It must be someone with huge notoriety, so they would get news coverage and conservatives would donate. Most of all, it has to be someone who cares enough about the country to take real action. Too often those who are willing aren’t able and those who are able aren’t willing.

Some other names on my wish list would include retiring Congressman Steve Stockman (TX), Allen West, Jenny Beth Martin, Phyllis Schlafly, Joe Farah, Ken Cuccinelli, Sharron Angle, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Joe Miller from Alaska, Alan Keyes, retiring Congressman Paul Broun (GA), Laura Ingraham, Eric Erickson, Katie Pavlich, Michelle Malkin, Lars Larson, or Michelle Bachman (who has a huge family she wouldn’t move). (Broun and Stockman ran in primaries for the U.S. Senate, so they did not drop out of politics.) Sarah Palin could save the country better by moving to Ohio than by tweeting from her kitchen table. Neither Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, nor Mark Levin would move, I’m sure.

Write your congressman and tell him you will hold him responsible if Boehner is reelected Speaker.

Simple, straightforward.
Boehner is bad for the country, bad for the caucus, and bad for your congressman.

Christine O’Donnell? The one who ‘is not a Witch?’ This lady has some of the same problems Sarah Palin had a few years back, with both political parties likely to be working against her. The GOP, won’t be receptive, because she is seen as a non serious disruppter, the Dems, because she can be lead to say silly things on the air.
I’m all for getting rid of Boehner though. On that, we agree.

Yes. Boehner needs a job he can handle. Maybe janitorial services.

As much as I can’t stand Boehner, I can’t abide by carpetbagging.

“A big-name conservative should move now into Ohio’s 8th”

That makes A LOT OF SENSE. Just as the article mentions (or doesn’t, haven’t read it yet), even a little twit like Brat forced Cantor to “Act” Conservative, at least until he swatted Brat out of the way (which, of course, the reverse happened).

Have a conservative in Boener’s district pose a credible threat to him and he will become a LOT MORE conservative, especially given the Cantor experience. You can BET YOUR LIFE ON IT.

First, let’s vet Zachary Werrell, before nominating him.

Second, don’t mention Christine O’Donnell if you want to be taken seriously.

Fair or not, her name is an established media joke, and you can’t fix that.

Third, you better have a clear line on 2 or 3 current House Conservatives, to move into the Speaker’s position.

The rest of the column is just venting, not a “plan”.

“As much as I can’t stand Boehner, I can’t abide by carpetbagging.”

He’s the SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE. No carpetbagger will defeat him...unless his stupidity permits it. You’re confusing other cases where a good, solid, Republican who doesn’t have much money is defeated by carpetbagger who brings wads of cash and destroys his name...as did Ariana Huffinton’s husband in California, in 1992. Now that was dirty...

I hate that picture.
Almost as much as Christie and Obama walking on the beach after the Sandy Hurricane.

Activity to topple the Boehnheads in the primaries for the next elections must visibly begin now.

Christine O’Donnell? ... The GOP, won’t be receptive.

Well, of course the GOP won't be receptive. The whole point is to end-run the GOP and over-turn the GOP leadership. The whole point of the article is to over-throw the GOP leaders who are working against a conservative agenda.

Ohio's 8th Congressional District is largely a rural, agricultural community with only parts of Springfield, Ohio -- a very small city -- in it.

The Republican primary voters in Ohio's 8th C.D. would eagerly and easily choose Christine O'Donnell over John Boehner.

Boehner loses the primary. He's gone. No more Speaker Boehner.

Would Christine O'Donnell win the general election and be elected to Congress? I don't care. Boehner would be gone. The leadership pulling the GOP to the Left would be clipped again, having lost Eric Cantor this year.

However, yes, Christine would win Ohio's 8th, because it is much more conservative than Delaware. Delaware is 306,000 Democrats to 180,000 Republicans. It is only 28% Republican, yet Christine got 40% of the vote in the general election in Delaware -- the same 40% that Mitt Romney got in Delaware two years later.

The whole point is to appeal to the voters themselves, over the heads of the GOP.

If you have ever met Christine O'Donnell in person and/or heard her speak live, she is extremely popular and persuasive and beloved by the grassroots voters.

Because of her high name recognition, people will come out from curiosity at least. After meeting her, they will be thrilled to vote for her over The Traitor in their midst, John Boehner.

Meanwhile, WHO ELSE? It has to be someone extremely famous, who is willing to move.

In 2014, JD Winteregg, a high school teacher, ran against John Boehner in the primary. He raised no money and he got crushed. It has to be someone with huge name ID who can get huge news coverage and can raise millions of dollars.

This lady has some of the same problems Sarah Palin had a few years back, with both political parties likely to be working against her.

Well, if you think that Sarah Palin is not a strong conservative leader with influence and possibilities, then yeah you would not like Christine O'Donnell, either.

I believe Sarah Palin is a weak conservative leader BECAUSE SHE NEVER *DOES* ANYTHING but sit at her kitchen table and spend maybe 5 minutes a week sending out a tweet. You can't save America or be a consequential leader by investing 5 minutes a week from your kitchen table. But if Sarah Palin would actually get off her rear and do something, Sarah Palin could just about run the Republican Party, if she played her cards right.

Boehner is not up for reelection till 2016. Removing him NOW as Speaker should be the goal.

We don’t need him removed from the Republican Party (although that would be nice), just remove his power.
