It’s hard to believe people would cheer the murder of two cops, but stubborn crime in the projects makes people think the police don’t care.
After the crack of gunfire echoed down Myrtle Avenue where several public buildings that make up the Tompkins Houses, several neighbors raced toward the bloody crime scene.
One 30-year-old local who gave his first name only as Carlos, didn’t hear the gunfire but saw the hysteria and walked to the police tape.
And he couldn’t believe his eyes or ears. He didn’t see shock or sorrow but glee and jubilation.

The police are blamed for the crimes black people inflict on each other because they don’t prevent them.
And they’re blamed for anything they do to try to prevent them.

Anyone who thinks a police strike SOLVES anything just haven't had to LIVE through one.
Cities bend over backwards, and rightly so, to prevent THAT horror. You obviously HAVEN'T lived through a police strike. Lol. Do you REALLY think it would solve ANYTHING? Wow. You MUST be under 30 years old.
Look at the old footage of the L.A. riots. That is a pretty good example of life without the police. Note the Korean store owners up on the roofs of their stores defending themselves and their stores with automatic rifles from the "folks" down below, running amok in the "City of the Angeles," police-less.
It that YOUR idea of a "solution"? I'm sure it isn't.
Call it a case of “You don’t know what you’ve got until it is gone.”
Then maybe the people would appreciate the police more.
