I wonder though about the differential effects of Indica vs. Sativa varieties of marijuana, which can have quite opposite psychological and behavioral effects. In this review nothing about the variety was specified.
The study does not show a causal relationship. This was pointed out:
During the Q&A session after his presentation, an audience member pointed out that there was no implication that cannabis drove PTSD severity and asked whether it could just be that the patients with more severe symptoms use more cannabis.

PING!
I know a few people who will not want to hear about this but should consider the possible effects before it’s too late. No matter what any new law allows one to do, it’s best to do most anything in moderation. There are very few true panaceas except for the individual mind.
That’s true. But the article is not excerpted anyway.
Everyone in the 1960’s and 70’s knew that pot can trigger paranoia ... Recent research shows pot can trigger paranoia .... Giving something that can cause paranoia to someone with PTSD is nuts
The study did not demonstrate causality.
Of course, marijuana does cause paranoia in a fair number of people — which might not mix so well with PTSD.
Do you know either through anecdote or formal research whether an Indica variety has triggered paranoia?
Medscape (Reuters) is just trying to keep big pharma’s suckers hooked on their manufactured deadly poisons.
I’ve been a Medscape subscriber since the day they were created, and am familiar with the trash they put out.
One can even get “continuing education” credits for reading their crap.
.
Sorry, I clicked directly from the all articles page, with the intention of reading the article before visiting the thread, so didn’t notice that it wasn’t excerpted, (even when I clicked onto the thread to post to you).
“Medscape (Reuters) is just trying to keep big pharmas suckers hooked on their manufactured deadly poisons.”
Soros and Sperling are just trying to get you hooked on their poisons.
Which is hardly a vote of confidence for anyone with PTSD who might want to self-medicate with it.
Why the obsession over Marijuana, and NOT Alcohol?
(or any number of prescribed medications that drive people nuts and contribute to mass murders)
For some reason, the busy bodies and ‘religious crusaders’ seemingly obsess over drugs that happen to be illegal. Why?
Bottom line... If you don’t like some drug, then don’t use it! Leave those that do alone.
You're making me paranoid, maaan.
Funny. Today I heard on the radio that a study concluded that Marijuana may relieve symptoms of PTSD.
I pay no attention to these “studies”, because there are so many that contradict each other. It’s just funny. lol
Next study will claim weed adds up to 20 years to your life.
Wonder how much of the “paranoia” is the swat team that may burst in? the job testing? the nosey neighbor? etc.
