There is nothing “fair” about President Barack Obama’s executive action on immigration, Rep. Marsha Blackburn, a Tennessee Republican, said Thursday on Newsmax TV's “America’s Forum.”
Blackburn offered a couple of examples of how the executive order is hurting some of her constituents, including a woman who legally emigrated from Kurdistan who has been waiting to get her permanent resident’s card. When the thousands of people being hired under Obama begin to process the wave of immigrants legalized by his order, the Kurdish woman will be behind those who entered the U.S. illegally.
“They left unlawful rule in Iraq and came here because of their desire to live in a lawful, free society and to honor people that have broken the rule of law makes no sense at all and it's just blatantly unfair,” Blackburn said.
The millions of out-of-work Americans will see the president grant work permits to the millions of people who broke the law when they entered the United States, she said, while Americans born here will “be at the back of the line.”
“An example of this is a constituent of mine who has a masonry company and it is a four generation business in this family and he said he can hardly get enough work now for his son to stay employed because you have those that have illegally come in the country to go in under bid, under cut, do the work and move on, they leave town,” Blackburn said.

I have had enough. I have been told to wait until we are in control. I am 71 years old and I don’t have much more time to wait. I intend to tell my representative that if he votes for Boehner as speaker, I will not vote for him or ANY republican as long as I may live. I will vote conservative or tea party for president but I will vote libertarian or write-in for every other public office. This country is in the worst downward spiral since I was born and I don’t see it changing in the near future. If this trend continues it will be a 3rd world country in 50 years and the middle class will be a thing of the past.
Perhaps its time a Congressperson forwards a bill along the lines of:
1. Refunds to every legal immigrant who came to the United States, and followed the process, post 1965: all fees associated with their naturalization process. If said immigrant is not alive, the refund is passed to their heirs.
2. Fast tracks those who are currently in the process of naturalization, with a waiving of all associated costs and refunds of such.
3. Denies the right to vote for a period of no less than 12 years from the date resident status is “granted” (note the quotes) by any agency following Obama’s “executive memo”.
