Women Who Propose: The Real Story
Yahoo ^ | December 18, 2014 | Hayley Phelan

Katie and Sam’s engagement story is a lot like most couples. There was a bended knee, a ring pulled from a pocket, an impromptu celebration with friends—but with one key difference: Katie was the one doing the asking.

“We had been together almost two years and I was confident in our relationship and in doing it,” says Katie, 26, who proposed to Sam at a friend’s party. “We had discussed marriage before, and the time just felt right. He was surprised, but very happy and said yes.”

I agree. This also sounds sexist but is based on reading and observations. If a man has not proposed he is not ready — and it could mean the wife will be stuck wearing the pants forever. Very tiring. Women should quit chasing uncommitted men.

No flames here. Women have a biological clock that starts ticking a lot sooner than a man’s. Maybe that’s why they’re more eager to get married.

Nowadays men can get all the benefits of marriage without actually being married. By becoming sexually loose and moving in with their boyfriends, women have thrown away all their leverage. Feminism and looser morals have caused everything to go out of whack, to the detriment of women most of all, IMO.

The common denominator in nearly every instance was that it was the man who absolutely adored the wife

The Bible says that a man should love his wife, and a woman should respect her husband. That does seem to be true of marriages that last.

You are right. Nowadays men are getting all the benefits of msrriage without the corresponding responsibilities expected of them as husbands,if they were husbands.

By the time a girl moves in with a man, she has played her last card. And then she is in a situation in which she is picking up the responsibilities of a wife without getting the benefits of being a wife.

People really shouldn’t live together outside of marriage. It seemsnto cause a lot of headache and heartache in people’s lives. And the woman seems to absorb most of the headaches and heartaches from such living arrangements.

Bended Knee?

I assume there will be more “Yes” responses when they are on both knees. As they say, timing is everything.

I’m hedging my Bet that this Post either gets a Rimshot or is pulled. LOL

Katie and Sam? I would have sworn this was a lesbian relationship and the story was about which of the women propose.

>>Sometimes it’s best to walk away.<<

Cheaper to just remain single, and pay someone to come by and kick you in the balls every few days...hahahaha

If she has to ask him, he is not worth it.

If she asks him, he knows she is not worth the effort and a definite prescription for disaster awaits. (see control freak or female dog)

this is just plain wrong.

People really shouldn’t live together outside of marriage.

If women stopped giving the milk away they would find men are suddenly 'ready to commit' a heck of a lot sooner.

Yep. I think the whole sexual revolution upset the dynamics of male/female relations.

I don’t want to imply that men are only thinking about sex.

But I have known some women who lived with their boyfriends, and the boyfriend was happy to spend nights with her, but even though living with her, felt entitled to come and go as he pleased. Its like men in such situations act like they are single when they feel like it, but still want to come home to her at night. And don’t want to do any cooking or cleaning or anything around the house.

It seems to me that when it comes to just living together, men seem to get all the benefits without assuming responsibility. Whereas the woman is putting herself out there, taking on responsibilities for him and the household, without having any real commitment from him as to their future together.

Just my two cents.......

I think this is more about “ugly women” trying to pressure men. Remember feminism is about ugly women competing for men.

The holier than thou walk on water crowd is out in force.

One thing I noticed is that the tables turn at age 30+.

I was still single at 30, a well paid workaholic during the dot com boom who basically had no life, and I finally decided to slow down and basically get a one. So I published a personal ad in the local grocery store ‘Meet Singles’ rag (yeah, I know this dates me).

I was floored when I got 50 responses with photos and everything, and many were quite attractive. I didn’t publish a photo or give any info about myself beyond what fit in a 4 line classified ad.

I did 12 dates. A lot of them reeked of desperation: raising young kids, broke, alone. I really felt sad for them. Some gave not-so-subtle hints about coming home for nightcap (kids at babysitters, etc). These women were living such sad lives. It was just too emotionally exhausting for me.

I finally met a *wonderful* smart, attractive, divorcee (he cheated and left her), a conservative Baptist who simply believed that God would show her the right man some day (not desperate at all). Eventually she brought me to accepting Jesus Christ as my loving savior, and I have been happily married ever since.

Bottom line: When you hit your 30s the game changes and it is the men who get chased. So guys, just hang in there. She is out there somewhere!

Yes its been my experience that when a man gets the bug to get married to a certain lady nothing can hold him back.

I could not get rid of Mr. GG2. Not that I tried that hard. :-)
