Rand Paul Breaks With Rubio and Bush Over Cuba

Rand Paul Breaks With Rubio and Bush Over Cuba Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul is the latest potential presidential candidate to weigh in on policy changes to Cuba and the libertarian leaning Republican's position splits from other Republicans who are also considering a presidential run.

Paul told Tom Roten of News Talk 800 in West Virginia that the 50-year embargo "just hasn't worked" and normalizing relations with the island nation is "probably a good idea."

"If the goal is regime change, it sure doesn't seem to be working and probably it punishes the people more than the regime because the regime can blame the embargo for hardship," he said.

Rand Paul On Shutdown: "Even Though It Appeared I Was Participating In It, It Was A Dumb Idea"
I said throughout the whole battle that shutting down the government was a dumb idea. Even though it did appear as if I was participating in it, I said it was a dumb idea. And the reason I voted for it, though, is that it's a conundrum. Here's the conundrum. We have a $17 trillion debt and people at home tell me you can't give the president a blank check. We just can't keep raising the debt ceiling without conditions. So unconditionally raising the debt ceiling, nobody at home wants me to vote for that and I can't vote for that. But the conundrum is if I don't we do approach these deadlines. So there is an impasse. In 2011, though, we had this impasse and the president did negotiate. We got the sequester. If we were to extend the sequester from discretionary spending to all the entitlements we would actually fix our problem within a few years.

Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften war stance
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.

Rand Paul's immigration speech
...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.

Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.

Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...

This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reform
Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...

Rand Slams Congress for Funding Egypt's Generals: 'How Does Your Conscience Feel Now?'
Sen. Rand Paul is hammering his fellow senators for keeping billions in financial aid flowing to Egypt's military -- even as Cairo's security forces massacre anti-government activists. [by "anti-government activists" is meant church-burning Christian-murdering jihadists]

Rand’s unfitness for office isn’t a new thing. His support for Castro’s regime isn’t surprising, or (after a little digging) anything new. He’s a Democrat who self-describes as a conservative and Republican — just like his father. Nevertheless, his supporters will continue to support him, because they are exactly like the Pauls.

If sanctions don’t work, why does FR have the Zot?

I’ve never considered Cuba to be that great a threat. Do you believe them to be more of a threat now than they were two weeks ago?

Cubans can’t be fooled by the ‘promise’ of Communism - they’ve seen the reality up close and personal. It’s why democrats and their useful idiots hate Cuban immigrants.

Democrats open the doors for Mexican drug cartel members and their thug wannabees but remember how they treated Elian Gonzalez... Elian Gonzalez’s mother died to get him to the United States from Cuba - and Hillary, Reno, and CommieLlite Bill captured the child and sent him back to Cuba.

All that phony ‘compassion’ liberal trot out for the rest of us to admire was missing when it came to Elian...

Democrats hope they can feed the lie about communism to the children of Cuban immigrants...

"If sanctions don’t work……."

I've heard Rand (and others) points on this. Rubio makes a hell of a lot more sense though.

It seems that Obama and Rand Paul want to add 11 million Cubans in the Island to U.S. welfare rolls. Castro will bankrupt U.S. as he bankrupted the Soviet Union.

AMERICANS BEWARE!

Pope Francis concocted Obama’s unconditional surrender to Cuba Stalinist regime.

Behind Obama’s unconditional surrender to the Castro’s brothers, is the plot to make the American taxpayers liable for whatever the American companies sell to Cuba. The end of the embargo is their goal. "Because of something called the Export-Import Bank there's no risk whatsoever in exporting to bankrupt, murderous and kleptocratic regimes- worse there' no incentive for the kleptocrats to clean up their act, as would happen under a genuine free-market. Also the World, financed 80% by the American taxpayers will open their vaults to be freely looted by the Castro brothers."

Castro helped to bankrupt the Soviet Union, Obama before leaving want to complete the destruction of United States.

In the commercial and political relations of the Cuban regime and the U.S. there are several priorities to be concerned with.

1st. Cuba has defaulted in all his international financial deals and Castro encourages other Third World nations to follow his example. Why are we going to sell to someone without the expectation to ever be pay. The American taxpayers should be aware that they are the targets of the scam by which the multinationals sell to Castro whatever he needs and we, the taxpayers, end footing the bill. Castro for 42 years has been with commercial ties with over 150 nations. Now when he has exhausted the patience of nations fool enough to have given him credit, Castro’s puppets in the media, the congress in cahoots with some greedy commercial circles are trying that the American taxpayers shoulder the heavy burden of subsidizing his regime to the tune of 9 billion dollars.

2nd. The American companies cannot made business legally with Cuba without violating several American laws.

A.- Trading with the Enemy Act.

B.- U.S. Commercial Embargo Against Cuba.

C.- Helms- Burton Law.

D.- Involvement in bribes in commercial dealings with another nation. :

E.- Involvement in slave labor of foreign workers in connivance with the local authorities.

3rd. Cuba is, and has been a terrorist state for 54 years, and counts with advanced chemical, biological and cyber warfare capabilities aimed against our country. The cooperation between the Cuban regime with Iraq and Iran in the chemical and biological research is well known. A few months before the September 11 attack Castro affirmed at the University of Tehran that their cooperation would put the U.S. down to its knees. Castro once tried to nuke our cities and he has the means and the will to fulfill his dream of destroying our country. If we are involved in a worldwide war against terrorism, Cuba at 90 miles from our coasts should be a prime target in that war; so, those involved in appeasement policies towards Castro and in the promotion of the lifting of the commercial embargo against Cuba are in fact aiding and abetting our worst enemy.

The British intelligence recently made public the relationship between Castro and the terrorist guerrillas of Colombia, IRA, and Chilean terrorists. The socialist administration in Chile has expressed their deepest concern to Castro. The Cuban dictator, as usual, disregarded Chile's official inquiry into the matter and denied that any of those Chilean terrorists had ever been in Cuba, although there are phone calls that were intercepted between them while in Cuba and their relatives in Chile.

We have to wonder why Obama unconditionally surrendered to the Cuban Communist thugs endangering the security of the U.S.?

Your post is spot on.

The communist in the WH and his KGB handler Jarrett have shown their hand via Cuba.

Congress is still in the equation though.

Your 2nd point is the fly in the marxist totalitarian ointment.

Black Friday Greetings from Fidel and Che

Humberto Fontova | Nov 28, 2011

Castro and Che tried to obliterate New York and Washington by a nuclear attack during the October missile crisis in 1962.

On Nov. 17, 1962, J Edgar Hoover’s FBI cracked a terrorist plot by Castro-Cuban agents that targeted Macy's, Gimbel's, Bloomindales and Manhattan's Grand Central Station with a dozen incendiary devices and 500 kilos of TNT. The holocaust was set to go off the following week, the day after Thanksgiving.

A little perspective: the March 2004 Madrid subway blasts, all 10 of the explosions that killed and maimed almost 2000 people, used a grand total of 100 kilos of TNT. Castro and Che’s agents planned to set off five times that explosive power in the three biggest department stores on earth — and on the year’s biggest shopping day, for good measure.

Thousands of New Yorkers-- probably mostly women and children given the date-- were to be incinerated and entombed. Castro and Che planned their Manhattan holocaust just weeks after Nikita Khrushchevfoiled their plans for an even bigger massacre during the Cuban Missile Crisis. “If the missiles had remained,” Che Guevara confided to The London Daily Worker the following month, “we would have used them against the very heart of the U.S., including New York City.”

Cuba’s agents for this Manhattan Thanksgiving bomb plot were members of the Cuban mission to the United Nations, and were working in concert with members of the Fair Play For Cuba Committee, an outfit that became much better known a year later this very week.

Had those detonators gone off the day after Thanksgiving in 1962, 9/11 might be remembered as the second deadliest terrorist attack on U.S. soil.

Castro planned his Manhattan holocaust short weeks after Nikita Khrushchev foiled his plans for an even bigger one. "Say hello to my little friends!" Castro dreamt of yelling at the hated Yankees in October 1962, right before the mushroom clouds.

Then, Castro tried to obliterate American Cities, now the Castros will help Obama rich his main goal, to bankrupt U.S.

Thanks for the informative summary of Castro and Che’s planned terrorist activities. Given the past few weeks expressing and implementing a less stringent stance toward Cuba, do you believe the same threats are back on the table and further enhanced? We have foreign and domestic enemies increasing on all sides, it seems. Given the American press, I do not trust their reports on the nature and extent of this shift in policy, nor their remarks concerning Rand Paul.

Castro brothers own everything in Cuba. There is no private property. Any companies doing business there pay them and they pay a pittance to the people doing the work. Pocket the rest.

Embargo not working....no regime change? Look no further than JFK for wimping out on the Bay of Pigs.

The Castro brothers make Idi Min look like Mother Teresa.

Rand Paul supports Obama's bail out of the Cuban Stalinist regime.

IGNORING THE CRY FOR FREEDOM OF THE CUBAN PEOPLE, COMRADE OBAMA CAME TO THE RESCUE OF CASTRO’S STALINIST REGIME

“Barack Obama’s allies are not our allies; his enemies are not our enemies. He was raised to sympathize with Castro’s Cuba, Arafat’s PLO, Brezhnev’s Russia. He has chafed at the bit throughout his presidency, hating pretending to like our allies, hating pretending to dislike our enemies. He has worked to drive wedges through our friendships with Britain, Israel, Canada… and he has worked to weaken our opposition to islamofascist terror and our longtime global rivals. And he will to continue in these directions every day that he has the power to do so.” (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/3252351/posts)

After 56 years, Cuba still remains a giant prison island under the boot of the Castro brothers.

The Chinese maintain an advanced electronic base in the center of the Havana province to intercept all electronic communications in U.S. and is equipped for eventual cyber attacks to U.S.

Putin is reopening the spy base in the outskirts of Havana that was closed after the dismembering of the Soviet Union.

Well before he came to power, Castro regarded the United States as an enemy. In a 1957 letter — displayed in Havana's Museo de la Revolucion, Fontova observes — the future ruler wrote to a friend: "War against the United States is my true destiny. When this war's over, I'll start that much bigger and wider war."

Six months before the 9/11 Islamic terrorist attack to New York and Washington, Fidel Castro, speaking at Tehran University in Iran on May 10, 2001, vowed that “the imperialist king will finally fall”, that their cooperation would put the U.S. down its knees. The hatred of the Castro brothers against U.S. has not mellowed after 56 years in power.

After Obama surrender to the communist regime the American base in Cuba, Castro might give the Guantanamo base to Iran to consolidate and strengthen the Cuban ties to the Islamic terrorist network, an alliance that started since the very beginning of taken power in Cuba the communist revolution.
