WALL STREET JOURNAL TO JEB: DON'T BUDGE ON AMNESTY, COMMON CORE
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | December 17, 2014 | Tony Lee

Posted on 12/17/2014 3:00:59 PM PST by Bratch

The pro-amnesty and open borders Wall Street Journal wants former Florida Governor Jeb Bush to not back down on Common Core and amnesty, the two issues that may represent the greatest divide between the bipartisan political class and Main Street.

The Journal, which Bush has hailed as his "paper of record," argued that Bush was right when he recently said during a Journal event that a Republican must be willing to "lose the primary to win the general" election.

"Mr. Bush’s two main political liabilities in the primaries are said to be his support for immigration and for Common Core education standards," the Journal opined. "Neither is an insuperable barrier to the nomination."

I used to take the WSJ because of the Editorial Page.

Now, I take the WSJ in spite of the Editorial Page.

What a wasteland.

Karl Rove is a weekly contributor.

With the Senate collapse letting Enzi take over for Sessions in the Budget committee, we see where this is going. The ruling class is all in to push out anyone not already bought by K-street and they’ll fully fund Jeb. Another losing cycle. We’ll lose the White House 3-4 Senate seats and House seats again, just like 2012 when the same crew who ‘know how to win’ lost every race in sight.

But you should read the comments on the WSJ website, they’re uniformly blasting the editorial. I agree with you about Karl Rove though, Peggy Noonan also has a column on Saturdays.

So, it would appear that there’s no reaching across the aisle to Conservatives.

Will Jeb Bush insist that Common Core math is used to count the votes?

Silly conservatives, Jeb has already been chosen. The primaries are a phony show for suckers who think they have a voice in the decision on who the nominee will be.

Dittos!

I went so far that when traveling, I made certain wherever I stayed that I had my WSJ delivered daily.

Now, no problemo. I'd just as soon read the LA Times, Chi Sun Times, Denver Post, etc.

I sorely miss Bob Bartley.

LOL..... It’s far too late for Jeb the Loser to change. His lib leanings and amnesty disease has metastasized.

I want to see him run because it will be fun to see him lose.

Answer me this...if companies’ leaders -not just big money investors - want commie core and amnesty, knowing that our economy and the world economy(ies) are getting worse AND we have no spending money...then why do these crony capitalists favor these commie policies? In the long run it hurts their continued ability to grow their wealth...or are they just so rich and they hate us so much they want us to become poor?

Bush and his family I truly was suckered to believe he genuinely cared for my family and our well being...now brothers in arms with Clinton and Jarrett...it is amazing that those are indeed ruling over us and it is the Blindergers or Atlas Shrugged or 1984 mythical rulers all in one party ruling us. May they burn in hell.

I think the Big Business Boardrooms have lost their collective minds.

As long as I can remember, they have only focused on the next quarter. Long term planning seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird.

Evidently, they think they can always adjust to rapidly changing conditions...and when all else fails, bribe the politicians to pull their chestnuts out of the fire (see 2008).

We’re on our own, folks.

On the other hand, Bush III’s viability as a legitimate contender for 2016 will vanish (not that he’s seriously one now!)

I was livid that Jeb’s son from Florida came to Texas and ran for land commissioner - Oh, I need a political career, go to the historical state for a low level office and get it because no one will vote for the Democrat.

I hate the presumption of aristocracy coming from the Republicans - just as there has been for Clintons and Kennedys for the Democrats.
