Yeah, I know what naked short selling is.

When a Russian banker, or anyone else, looks at their computer screen, what do naked shorts look like?

Focus.

There are numerous trader software programs that chart short interests in many different exchanges.

NASDAQ even has a web page where schmucks like us can look up Nasdaq shorts.

Thanks for the link.

Firms are required to report their short positions as of settlement on the 15th of each month.

Hmmmmm....firms are required to report short positions, not naked shorts, once a month.

I guess that means short trades don't announce themselves, in the stock market, as they occur.

If you can show me that a particular ruble sale is a foreign speculator selling short, instead of a Russian selling rubles he already owned, you might have a point.

We can discuss the idea of selling rubles "naked short", once you're clear on your first error.
