Far-right group Pegida holds ‘Islamisation’ protest, using slogan from 1989 campaign against East German government.

Its members have been dubbed the “pinstriped Nazis” and they refer to their demonstrations as “evening strolls” through German cities. But on Monday night, an estimated 15,000 people joined Pegida, or Patriotic Europeans Against Islamisation of the West, in a march through Dresden carrying banners bearing slogans such as “Zero tolerance towards criminal asylum seekers”, “Protect our homeland” and “Stop the Islamisation”.

Lutz Bachmann, the head of Pegida, a nascent anti-foreigner campaign group, led the crowds, either waving or draped in German flags, in barking chants of “Wir sind das Volk”, or “We are the people”, the slogan adopted by protesters in the historic “Monday demonstrations” against the East German government in the runup to the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Associating themselves with the freedom demonstrations has given Pegida protests an air of moral respectability even though there are hundreds of rightwing extremists in their midst, as well as established groups of hooligans who are known to the police, according to Germany’s federal office for the protection of the constitution.

I don’t buy this Nazi BS

You shouldn't. It's nationalism under another banner, but they're equating nationalism to national socialism which was Germany's downfall last century.

This nationalist movement is one I can get behind, and I hope the Germans step up to act as a bulwark against the oppressive tide of Islamism. They're one of the first big western countries in the path of the Islamic spread that's going to come up from Turkey and from the south through Greece and Italy. We need big guns in this fight, because the Islamists are Hell-bent on total domination of the west by cultural overthrow.

They should call this “The March Against Socialist Internationalism”. Precisely because it is the socialist internationalists that want to dilute Germany by importing every foreigner they can get.

Socialist internationalists hate the very idea of nations, homogeneous cultures, religion, language, history, art and shared values. And they figure that by importing enough aliens, they can eventually make nations nothing more than single party, socialist, generic districts in economic blocs ruled by one-world government.

The German Social-Democrats are obvious about it, but they have no real opposition to it by their “Christian” Democrats, such as Merkel.

The US has the same problem in that the Democrat party here is blatantly socialist internationalist, and the Republican party is dominated by “business over all” RINOs, liberal Republicans that support internationalism because they think it is “good for business”. And who cares if it destroys America in the process?

Since when is fascism "far right"? Fascism is bigger government, just like socialism, communism, progressivism, liberalism, and anything else that wants the biggest government it can get.

Capitalism is the ONLY economic system that aims for the smallest government possible, and the foundation of conservatism.
