No one and I do mean NO one is more surprised by McCain’s and Flake’s yea votes than I.
And I live in Arizona.
Oops!
NAY VOTE
OP says both voted YEA. What is the deal?
Both voted Yea on the Procedure vote and Nay on the actual spending bill.
I did not read close enough to see which shit story awas about.
As I said in my next post, MY BAD.
Chuck Fleischmann as well voted for the Budget Bill. He’s received my last vote and I was not quite comfortable with the last vote I gave him. Maybe the northern counties in the Third District can put up someone to unseat him next election. Jimmy Duncan voted against it. He’s usually a solid vote for budget restraint. I’d love to see Duncan unseat Corker in the senate. He’d likely be the best Tennessee Senator in my lifetime.
Johnson (WI) came in with Tea-party surge as well.
I hate to be cynical, but I’m sure Corker voted no only once he was certain that it didn’t matter. In fact, I suspect that they colluded, knowing that Corker will face the voters again.
I find it hard to believe anyone here would be surprised at this. A historic sweep of the house and Senate, and what do we see? NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE. These people are all on the same team. They’re all damnable traitors.
But then Johnson went wobbly last year during the lead-up to the shutdown, and Mark let him have it, live and on the air:
Mark Levin BATTLES Sen. Ron Johnson over Obamacare defund strategy
He says he is no longer looking to repeal the health care law. He is pushing back hard against conservative voices calling for a shutdown over the president's immigration policy. He's touted his work with Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin to confirm Wisconsin judicial nominees. And in discussing his pending committee chairmanship, he points to Sen. Susan Collins and former independent Sen. Joe Lieberman as models of how he'd like to run the panel. Those aren't exactly the moves one would expect from a senator who is often lumped in ideologically with Sens. Ted Cruz and Mike Lee.IOW, they will solicit to form a Democratic constituency rather than a Republican one to stay in office. So what exactly is going on with Ron Johnson?
Johnson is one of half a dozen Republicans running in blue and purple states in 2016, all of whom were last elected in a midterm cycle, when voter turnout is typically much lower (and much more favorable to Republicans) than in a presidential year. All will have to work to appeal to independent and Democratic voters in their states.
Palin won't run for the Senate.
Republicans funding crime.
Roe came on the Bristol station this morning and sat for an hour and a half. I caught the last 30 minutes. His defense seemed to be that the bill held the Beast at 2008 funding levels. I do not know if that is even true. If it is, Big Whoop.
Every call he took, in the time I listened, took him to the wood shed.
Coats (R-IN) ...a gun-grabbing RINO brought to you by Greg Garrison!
Coats was never a conservative - he has always been a go along to get along type, a little better than Lugar, but not by much. Main difference being he kept his mouth shut comparatively
I see that BOTH the senators from Mississippi voted the party line. One must have left the memorial service of his wife early to do it, or perhaps Haley took care of that.
And Mr Wicker, I had hoped that you would stand with Cruz,Sessions, and Lee, but nooooo!
Oh well, we know they will make it better next year. I mean, they gave us their word.
What would you do if a honest, only slightly left leaning democrat, or independent ran in 2016 for president.Old Joe Lieberman for instance, against whatever the rancid republican leadership chooses, (especially since the convention will be more controlled by leadership after rules changes.
I note that the gutless and feckless RINO Rob Portman stayed away from this one. He is up for re-election in `16. Does not want a primary challenge. But I am certain he was there with McConnell and McCain in spirit cheering them on.
I believe I read that Cochran did vote with Cruz.
Easy answer: No one, but TN people think it's all of the ones they chose.
Duncan is one of the most consistent Conservatives in Congress & a hawk on budget. He really is needed in the senate. Outside of Tennessee few have heard of him.
