I watch “Dragnet” about every day. It is an entertaining show.

A few days ago they had the cops speaking to a group of civilians, asking questions etc.

One person asked about having a gun. The answer given was about as stupid as it gets. Officer Gannon says, “You can get to your phone just as quickly as you can get to a gun”.

Did no one writing for that show not realize just how dumb that was?

Webb was totally anti-gun and reflected it along with the other writers of the shows he produced. It was just a tad more subdued back then.
