I bet you anything that new rule gets walked back before the end of this school year. Let the lawyers and school administrators figure out an acceptable level of liability. I presume many children would feel better with at least one adult present. Although the students may not want to admit it. Even a group of the nicest school kids can get too loud or too goofy when on a field trip. Or one student may not have any friends to hang with, so they need teacher support.
Over here, they need a teacher with a sidearm handy. Goofy kids are the least of our worries.

I’ve seen photos of just that scenario. They are realistic. Good for them. Maybe their attitude is; Enjoy life, as much as you can, but always, always be aware of your surroundings, and have a plan of action should you be threatened.
I have heard that not all Israelis think so defensively, and some are hoping to vote Bibi out next election cycle on March 17th. Time will tell. Every politician has a career pattern, even very effective ones. There will be a rise, a plateau, and a steady decline. Just look at how Winston Churchill was ousted after The War.

We also saw the cooperation between Christians, Muslims and Jews. It is of necessity, they admit, since there aren't enough Jews to do all the labor in that country. The Muslims and Christians farm, pick vegetables/fruit, clean toilets, wash the dishes at Israeli Jewish restaurants and all other manual labor.
They aren't all buddy-buddies but they work together and cooperate because THAT is the essence of everyone's survival.
No one does much that's bad because of the Uzi-wielding Israeli soldiers EVERYWHERE. You can't go even a mile, it seemed, without another guard-house and soldiers' post.
Go there yourself and see. THAT would open your eyes. However, I doubt that you'll do it. MUCH easier to just hate them from afar.
We went on a Steve Ray pilgrimage. He was an Evalgelical Baptist minister who firmly believed that us Catholics were all going to hell. So, he and his wife, Janet, set out to convert us all to be Evangelical Baptists.
After a year of reading about Catholicism...they found themselves weeping on the living room floor one night saying: "Oh no! We're Catholics!"
Their getting to know the 2000-year history of the Catholic Church changed their life.
There are no more fervent Christians that converts.
NOW he takes regular tours to the Holy Land. He knows his Scripture backwards and forwards and it's a WONDERFUL tour. He's a very knowledgeable guide and a tour of Jesus' homeland is a perfect milieu for him and Janet. He always worked in concert with the LOCAL tour guides.
