Scale model rocket of the Star Wars X-Wing fighter at lift off.
SpaceX's X-Wing grid fins.
"X" marks the Spot on SpaceX's new "autonomous spaceport drone" rocket recovery ship.

NASA's picture-perfect Orion launch to Mars was all the rage last week. Huh?
Mars??? In a 4 hour trip? With a 3600 mile apogee?
(are they recruiting writers from Jr. High now?)

For some reason, that video reminded me of all the old cowboy movies where the herd was spooked and stampeded by thunder & lightning.
The herd at this launch site is a whole lot more laid back.

It’s the new normal. Results don’t matter.
The intention is paramount.

“What’s so groundbreaking about SpaceX’s new X-Wings?”
Nothing. I saw this on missile technology back in the early 90’s.

At the time, that aircraft was incredibly difficult to land. Now, the plane could be mad to land itself.

Whats so groundbreaking about SpaceXs new X-Wings? Nothing. I saw this on missile technology back in the early 90s.
In the first attempt to bring the first stage back, the rocket went into a severe rotation. Spacex figured it would get better when the landing legs were attached, but these are also an extra addition to control the spin.
