>> Starting a third party (or really a fifth party, since Libertarian and Greens are third and fourth) would help cement the Dems as the PARTY and we would go down the Socialist path...to Marxism.<<

You are exactly correct. But it's not a path...it's a cliff.

And right now what we have is SOOO much better?

Actually it is. The TEApublicans are the third party, at least the potential is there to achieve the short term correction.

Wayward TEApublicans need to be punished and/or replaced.

No, it isn’t but as I tell people that we need to join the local Republican committee. If you join... you can take a seat of a RINO. You can help change the Republican Party.

As Jim Robinson said back when Clinton’s impeachment was voted down in the Senate in 1999...

Impeach him again, this time harder!!!

THAT is a VERY good point!

Do you know how one can do this? Is it dependent on location or is the process similar country-wide?

I love Maine... think of moving there, since I do miss snowmobiling. I bought a 3/4 acre lot on a lake near Sebago at a tax auction in 1993 for 750 (the price of the tax lien).

LePage would be a great cabinet member in the Cruz administration. (Maybe Transportation Secretary).

I'm aware of Patreus ' history which is why I mentioned blackmail. I suspect he was setup, basically encouraged to cheat. That doesn't excuse his behavior, agreed. He also inexplicably supported Obie a month or so ago regarding an issue (immigration/borders ?) which you know he doesn't support....under the threat of further humiliation.

My speculation is that Boehner --a powerful, relatively handsome, partier, living alone in Washington--has had some trysts over the years and Obie has found 'em. Pure speculation.

The way to do what you want is to have a secondary...... a process that selects the conservative candidate from the field before the primary.

The winner of the GOPc secondary becomes the GOPc candidate in the primary.

GOPc = conservative Republicans

DING! DING! DING!.... WE HAVE A WINNER!

Exactly Dan. What the Saudis are doing has tentacles so similar to what our regime does(think open borders) its scary. Makes you think the same people may be involved. Who knows?
As you say Russia wants a Syrian pipeline, the world wants to frack and the mad mullahs would like to turn the kingdom into glass. So they have multiple objectives as you say.
Rumors are they are doing $30,40 and $50 a barrel deals with the Chicoms well.....

So another priest in the Wilmington diocese has died and another was called home to be with a dying father. Presiding priest at mass this morning announced about the advent penance service was this coming Wednesday and he didn’t care how many more priests died the service would go on.

“If I have to pronounce universal absolution I shall do so,” he muttered and the congregation kind of giggled.

We’re all still hurting a little bit over the death of a priest during a parishioner’s memorial service, of all things, but we’re healing.

A couple in a class I led over a Catholic book the parish sponsored stopped by to say to me. I told them I was the mass when Father Mark passed and they shrugged, offered their experience with Father Mark.

“If you gonna go, that’s the way I’d wanna do it,” the husband said with a tight smile.

Well Father Mark did just, boom, drop dead, literally before he hit the floor and yeah, we all decided that’s how we wanna go.

Father Jim, today’s mass presider, made us smile tight smiles again with his gauntlet tossed down that damn the dead priests, penance would go on!

Meanwhile, way I figure, Father MArk’s up in heaven (I was told by somebody that priests go right to heaven, do not pass go) laughing that he died the best possible way, no pain, directly in a church, during a memorial service already in process. Said memorial service being for a co-choir mate and now Father Mark-who also could carry a tune- and Merle are in heaven singing away.

Anyway, just an anecdote, yon reader should insert smile here. Thanks for indulging me.

Watching Karl Rove now on Fox News Sunday-on DVR-....I don’t trust that guy as far as I can throw him. and you know he’s all cbusy promoting ole Jeb Bush, dontcha?

Growing up in CT, I join the town’s Republican party committee at 18. My folks were politically active, but they weren’t members of the Republican committee, but they did campaign for a few candidates (E. Clayton Gengris against John Dempsey, but they didn’t campaign for Thomas Meskill against Ella T. Grasso, since they knew her. )
