The closure of Japan's nuclear power plants following the meltdowns at the Fukushima Daiichi plant after the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami increased fossil fuel consumption and led to a wave of new coal plant construction.

Was up in Quebec recently and talking to a friend. Power costs for a 1200 sq foot apt, with air conditioning, heat exchanger, heat, and appliances was about 115 per month on budget plan.

That is my bill for lights and appliances (gas dryer and stove)
