A woman who has for years accused Bill Cosby of drugging and sexually assaulting her filed a defamation lawsuit Wednesday claiming the fallen funnyman sullied her “good name and reputation” when he branded her a liar.
Tamara Green, 66, filed her claim in federal court in Massachusetts, alleging the comedian, through lawyers and publicists, negligently disregarded the truth and willfully induced “an evil opinion of her.”
Green, a retired lawyer, said the "pattern" of public shaming started when she first stepped forward in 2005 with claims Cosby drugged and groped her in the 1970s after hiring her to help him open a club.

I find it funny that the same people, who are demanding that Bill Cosby answer these decade old accusations are some of the same hypocrites that defended Bill KKKlinton, when he was accused of the same thing at the same time. Remember all the Women who accused KKKlinton were denounced as groupies and trailer park trash.
This could get interesting. The obvious defense against defamation is to prove the claim you made is true, but that would require Cosby to prove that her claim is not true. How can you prove you didn’t grope someone decades ago?
On the other hand, if he countersues, then she will have to prove the claim is true, which would seem to be just as difficult. I bet the lawyers will just flip a coin to reach some settlement.
A 1970 grope? Lawyer? I have to keep giving Cosby an OK here. There is something wrong with all of this. The man has been married for many years to the same woman. How did he do all of this without his wife having a clue?
It’s a bunch of down on their luck old ladies trying to get blood out of a man they think is on the ropes.
I imagine, however, that life as Mrs. Bill Cosby Superstar has its perks, that she has for some reason balanced against the knowledge of her husband's evil.
Well at least it isn’t due to racism since we were all told that Bill Clinton was the Nation’s “First Black President,” right?
The lawsuit is seeking damages in excess of $75,000 to be decided by a jury.
Does this sound like a serious lawsuit, of a money grubbing woman getting joining the wolfpack?

I doubt anybody here is giving Cosby a free pass, I just shocked at the feeding frenzy by the mostly Liberals, who wanted to give their hero Bill KKKlinton, a free pass many years ago.
His wife knew about him cheating because he has admitted that in the past, and has known about the rape accusations for at least 9 years, since that is when the claims first got large national coverage.
She also knew that one woman who claimed being drugged and raped, filed a police report in 2004, brought forth 13 more Jane Does, and that Bill settled out of court with her in 2006.
She also knew that her husband became Hefner’s best friend as he was a regular at the Playboy mansion.
The wife seems OK with everything.
That isn't true at all, since many of the accusers remained anonymous and never had anything to do with money or publicity. It also doesn't apply to people who simply add statements on his reputation for such things.
No it isn’t, many of the women, if not all, have fine lives, they are not down on their luck.
Cosby may or may not be guilty, but these women smell of jackals to me.
Let the court sort it out.
No, they don’t smell like jackals to you because you haven’t even bothered looking at them all, for instance the one he settled out of court with in 2006.
There is no reason to include this 73 year old woman in that, for instance.

“Donna Motsinger, 73, claims she was one of the 12 Jane Does who testified against the Cosby Show star in the 2005 civil rape case filed by former Temple University athletics director Andrea Constand. And Motsinger (who claims she was Jane Doe number eight) says she feels like a “coward” for not having spoken out publically about the alleged abuse before now.
“I feel guilty not telling my story,” Motsinger told the New York Post from her home. “I’m a coward over here. Those women are brave. It’s the least I can do. I want to tell people so [the victims] can’t be bullied, so they can’t be discredited.”
Motsinger claims she was drugged and raped 43 years ago in 1971 at a jazz club in Sausalito, California.”
