Venezuela, Not Russia, Will Be The First Domino To Fall With The Price of Oil
http://dailycaller.com ^ | 2/10/2014 | KEITH NAUGHTON

The oil price collapse has brought about excited speculation that the end may be near for Putin, Iran and the American oil shale industry. While the oil price downturn will definitely stress these three players, the prime candidate for political collapse is Venezuela – with significant ramifications for the United States.

And it’s likely the Obama administration is not prepared at all.

Venezuela has all three factors present for an imminent political implosion: 1) severe and worsening economic distress, 2) an organized political opposition, and 3) disunity in its security services. Russia and Iran may be in tough economic straits, but the political opposition in both countries is weak and the armed forces and police are clearly under the control of the existing regime.

I totally agree. Venezuela is on the brink and has been and I don't see it surviving another year. If only we could push oil production higher on federal lands. :-)

What exactly is the meaning of ‘fall’? How will it differ from what they have now?

They’re working up to it in VZ, from what I’ve read.

Remember, Venezuela, in 1956, was the first Latin American state to overthrow a dictator, long before Castro did it in Cuba, etc. It set off the chain-reaction that freed a lot of LA countries from the old “caudillos”.

Venezuelans are decent people except for Chavez’s reds. Time to clean house, Indonesian-style (1965).

Venezuela is at stage 3 of impending revolution, to wit, the same stage as Tsarist Russia in 1911, after the harvest failed and Stolypin...a very competent interior minister...was assassinated. Stage 4 will come quickly, much more quickly than in Russia 1911, because Venezuela has already destroyed its export infrastructure.

The only question remaining is: on what date will the V military take matters into their own hands? Temporarily, they are coopted, somewhat a la North Korea, by bribes from the goobermint. When those bribes stop, Maduro's game is over.

Just BTW, I live in Panama. We keep a VERY close eye on Maduro and his coterie of assholes. I dislike prediction, but, absent a SHARP rise in the price of crude, I should say that Maduro has less than 6 months, unless of course he should decide to go "full Castro" on his own population.

I don't think that that shot is on the board, because he has NO Soviet Union, or other, sugar daddy waiting in the wings.

FReegards to you!

You don’t think his fellow traveler Obama would prop him up?

(Just kidding. I hope.)

Good. America is defeating all her enemies in one swift blow; in determining a lower oil price, hopefully US hegemony will rule once again. It’s about bloody time too.

Venezuelans won’t have my respect until they use el Jefe to re-enact Mussolini’s end.

Not only that, Venezuela is not an island. That makes it kind of hard to keep everyone from leaving.

I believe Venezuela will rise and the damn commies will fall if the stupid people that voted the commies in have learned their lesson. I wish them the best and hope a rebirth of freedom is in their immediate future.

Any chance we could send Willard and Jeb down there instead of us putting up with them.

Didn’t the Bush clan buy a huge track of land down that way?
