While there are plenty of Bible verses to mention while discussing immigration, President Obama on Tuesday quoted one which isn't so great, mainly because it's not real. "The good book says don't throw stones at glass houses, or make sure we're looking at the log in our eye before we are pointing out the moat in other folks eyes," Obama said during a speech in Nashville. One problem, though: The Bible never mentions glass houses.
In addition to his biblical misquote, Obama also tied his immigration policy to the Christmas story, saying, "If we're serious about the Christmas season, now is the time to reflect on those who are strangers in our midst and remember what it was like to be a stranger." This analogy drew conservative ire as opponents of the president's immigration reform noted that Mary and Joseph were actually visiting Joseph's ancestral home.
Mary and Joseph were citizens of their own country - not illegal aliens ...

The writer may want to rethink “ancestral home” as the standard; there was a Rodriguez and Garcia living in what is now a good portion of the United States long before a Smith or Wilson showed up...
Sure it does. The Bible spoke of glass houses just before the paragraph about cow flatulence and its effect on man-made climate change.

2. I assume Obama in his stupid way was trying to talk about the flight into Egypt of the Holy Family. But that wasn’t an immigration situation. Both the Holy Land and Egypt at that point were part of the Roman Empire, the same way Paul could travel through Turkey and Greece, etc. It was all part of the Roman Empire.

He has the audacity to call the Bible, “the good book”? His way of being “folksy”. Like John F’n Kerry when he went into a gun shop and suddenly had a southern accent. The “good book” should be the book thrown at him in a court of law.

Notice he always says "the Holy Koran" but never to my knowledge "the Holy Bible". Instead he reverts to a colloquialism, 'the good book'. Its like using "the man upstairs" for God which generally reveals very little actual experience with either one.

To be fair, the bible does say, “let he who is without sin among you, cast the first stone. And they all, from the eldest to the youngest turned and walked away.”
And he turned to the woman and said, “Woman where are thine accusers?”
