Despite call for repeal, Hogan plans to keep Marlyand gun laws (New MD RINO Governor)

Lawmakers in this state and around the country are pressuring this state to repeal the sweeping gun control measures passed last year, but Governor-elect Larry Hogan promises he will keep the law in place.

(snip)

During this fall’s gubernatorial campaign, Democrats repeatedly attacked Hogan for his position on gun control, specifically regarding the National Rifle Association’s endorsement of Hogan.

“This endorsement is based on Hogan’s support for and commitment to the Second Amendment. Larry Hogan respects the rule of law and the Second Amendment rights of Maryland’s law-abiding citizens,” an NRA news release said.

Hogan repeatedly promised throughout the campaign that he would not roll back the state’s gun control measures, and his spokesman Wednesday confirmed his position hasn’t changed.

“If we get bogged down on tinkering around with law in Maryland on controversial issues, we’re never going be able to work together across party lines to fix our broken economy,” said Adam Dubitsky, Hogan’s spokesman.

Classic weasel RINO bait-and-switch. Hogan was all pro-2nd Amendment when he needed the support of the NRA and rural Maryland to squeak out a victory over Brown. But now that he's won, he's walking away from it, and reaching so far across the aisle that he's standing on the Rat's side of the line.

He's a failure before he even starts.

And oh yeah...

He forgot the need to have his own side of the aisle behind him before “reaching across the aisle”.

What is the behavior of Progressives that forces
non-Progressives to “reach across the aisle”?

It might just be that they’re a bunch of boorish
sob’s who will do anything for the revolution in a way that brings to mind psychosis.

IMHO

This is another example of why we need to run CONSERVATIVES rather than just Republicans.

He should just be called “Pragmatic”, in its most negative sense. That is, he uses the Democrat legislature as an excuse for not even trying.

And this is a lame excuse, after it has been demonstrated many times around the country that Democrats can be beaten over the head with their stupid gun control ideas.

Even if he couldn’t herd enough Democrats to overturn it, the threat of him doing so would give him a lot of leverage on other issues. That is, “Unless you support this other idea, I am going to remind the public of your anti-gun votes.”

However, he character is likely so feeble that he doesn’t want to challenge the Democrats on anything. Just to meekly follow their lead while pretending to stand for something.

Don’t always listen to a spokesman. Hogan has as his top priority: jobs & fixing the $$$$$$$$$$ hole left by OMalley & his cronies.
But it is definitely on his list to make changes to MD gun laws.

Typical RINO degenerate loser. maryland ( THE Freak state) deserves to wallow in its LIB/DIM/RINO insanity. There is absolutely no hope there. Leave while you still can do so.

NRA backs people that win, for the long run—not necessarily conservative. Give your money to the Second Amendment group, they are loyal.

I don't know how you can claim that, given that the article clearly states:

Hogan repeatedly promised throughout the campaign that he would not roll back the state’s gun control measures, and his spokesman Wednesday confirmed his position hasn’t changed.
His position now is the same as it was last year, when the NRA backed him.

I am not justifying his position, or supporting it. I am just saying that he did not say one thing last year, and then say something else this year.

That would be a useful strategy if you did not care about winning in Maryland. Not saying that you are wrong to not care, or right, just that you are not going to elect a conservative for Governor in Maryland. It was amazing that Hogan was able to win, and at least he appears to be somewhat fiscally conservative, so for those who live in Maryland (Not I, but my family does), they might have some improvement in their fiscal situation now.

They will need to win a few legislative elections to get enough votes in their house and senate to do anything about the gun laws, unfortunately.

That is disappointing. Let’s see how the rats in Annapolis and the media trap Larry and then make him even less influential to get parts of his agenda accomplished.
