Four Months of ‘Basic Shelter Care’ Cost Twice a Year at Sidwell Friends
CNS News.com ^ | December 9,2014 | By Barbara Hollingsworth

A Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) contractor spent $86,846.34 to provide “basic shelter care” for each unaccompanied minor aged 12 to 17 who illegally crossed the southern border and was housed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma earlier this year, according to documents released to Judicial Watch under a Freedom of Information Act request.

That sum is more than twice the cost of tuition and fees for an entire year at Sidwell Friends, the exclusive private school in northwest Washington, D.C. that Sasha and Malia Obama and Vice President Joe Biden’s grandchildren attend.

“It is outrageous that the Obama administration spent nearly $200 million of taxpayer funds to provide illegal alien children with the types of extravagant high-tech equipment and lavish benefits many American families cannot even afford for their own children,” Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said in a statement. “And very few American workers are bringing home the $80,000 the Obama administration pays the BCFS’s Incident Management Team for just four months’ work.”

“Our researcher did a quick Home Depot check. Instead of $1,000 a piece, he was able to price out Home Depot shower stalls at about $160, $170 apiece. So even with installation, and man-hour work charge, it doesn’t get to $1,000. Not by anyone’s calculation. So this is the humanitarian version of the $500 Air Force hammer.”

No expense was spared to bring EV-D68 into America
to paralyze and murder the children.

The treasonous EXEMPT Congress and Obama,
who have savaged Americans through the VA and IRS,
truly have their blood on their EXEMPT hands.

This is that ULTRA secret facility where that Congressman was denied entry. They even threatened to call the cops on him, in his own district.

Now this makes more sense.

They do not. And they are taking steps to remove "Baptist" from their name.

The organization is a non-profit that gains over 98% of its funding from government grants.

In other words, it is a liberal tool -- no more, no less.

"In addition to food, showers and basic shelter, our Office of Refugee Resettlement is required by law to provide recreational activities, access to phones to contact attorneys and family members, medical assistance and educational services to minors in the Unaccompanied Alien Children program.

I would be outraged if this amount of money was spent on children who were legal citizens of the United States.

While a nice hook for the storyline, tuition and fees for each day of school during the year is not the same as “sheltering” for 24 hours.

Regardless of that hook, both costs are egregious IMO, BUT, one is a matter of choice, and the other is not - the money for it has been taken from us against our will.

Thank goodness for the leadership of John Boehner in passing another omnibus spending bill to fund the government through September 2015. I won’t have to worry today about a government shutdown affecting the basic shelter care for non citizens.

We are in the midst of a bathroom remodel. That $160 shower is the most basic of cubicle boxes with only a curtain for a door. It does not include installation/plumbing and even in our small rural area, that could amount to well over $500.

We priced new showers at 2 local big box stores, one of which was Home Depot. They come in pieces: so much for the bottom tray, so much for the walls, so much for the door. Indeed, most middle of the pack shower kits added up to $1000. The fancier corner showers were higher. Hardware is extra.

We opted to replace the door of our 25-year-old shower for $149 +tax. The rest of the shower stall was still in good shape, so it was removed to finish the floor underneath and then re-installed. We soaked the old hardware in Lime Away and scrubbed it clean rather than replace it. It works and looks just fine. Ditto the places on the stall that were lime scaled.

We tried to set up an appointment with the plumbers prior to starting the job. When they told us they were too busy and refused to even make an appointment, my husband spent time with some home maintenance/building texts and some more time on You Tube. He then removed and replaced both the toilet and shower. The most helpful person was an employee at our local True Value who had actually done such a job himself. As he worked his way through the job, he found that the *professionals* we used 25 years ago had done many things wrong and also cut many corners. Pipes were installed in vanity cabinets and dividing walls in such a way at to make it impossible to simply remove those walls in one piece. The new installations are now designed with slots instead of holes. Just as much time/labor, but now easier to access for repair.

Anyway, just wanted to correct this. Go find a complete shower at Home Depot for $160.

BTW, I doubt the math in this article actually touches on the real issues. The country is not being charged for concrete items like shower stalls. We are being charged for the invading army destined to eradicate us. For that, any charges at all are excessive and an insult added to an injury.
