Mayor Bill de Blasio: Rudy Giuliani ‘Fundamentally Misunderstands the Reality’

Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani “fundamentally misunderstands the reality,” New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said today on “This Week” in response to Giuliani’s recent comments focusing on violence within African-American communities, rather than questions over police interactions with minorities that have sparked nationwide protests.

“I think he fundamentally misunderstands the reality,” de Blasio told ABC News chief anchor George Stephanopoulos in his first television interview since a New York grand jury decided this week not to indict police officers in the July death of Eric Garner in Staten Island. “We’re trying to bring police and community together. There is a problem here, there is a rift here that has to be overcome.”

“You cannot look at the incident in Missouri, another incident in Cleveland, Ohio, and another incident in New York City, all happening in the space of weeks and act like there’s not a problem,” de Blasio added.

De Blasio was responding to comments made by Giuliani on Fox News last Sunday in which he said, “I think just as much, if not more, responsibility is on the black community to reduce the reason why the police officers are assigned in such large numbers to the black community. It’s because blacks commit murder eight times more per capita than any other group in our society.”(continued)

All I know is that NY has a bunch of marxists disrupting business and driving tourists away because the current mayor tolerates them.

Macy’s would be wise to start hinting around about leaving NY.

Freaking left speak. If you say something over and over , it becomes reality.

I'm looking forward to the nosedive in real estate prices in Tribeca, the Upper East Side and the Upper West Side...the places where this pig's trust funded supporters live.

Giuliani changed “the reality” for the better. Whether he “understood” de Blasio’s interpretation of it doesn’t matter.

In his time in office, de Blasio may have spent time “understanding” that would have been better spent making things better. Trouble is, his theories do not jibe with the reality, so de Blasio apparently doesn’t “understand” as much as he thinks he does.

De Blasio should be held for his treasonous ways when he supported the Sandinistas. Typical goose stepper on the left.

Everybody hates Bill de Blasio.
Barney the purple dinosaur sings, “I love you! You love me! We all hate Bill de Blasio! What kind of jackass makes up his own name and puts a ‘de’ in it?”

de Blasio actually admits that his fundamental understanding of reality is radically different than former Mayor Guliani’s.

I bet 90 percent of Americans could look at the facts and understand that it is de Blasio that is delusional.

I don’t exactly recall what the choices were...other than the pervert weiner. Was there actually a candidate for mayor who would have been better?

Seems to me NY’ers are now taking the results of Guiliani’s work for granted. How soon they forget....

The vicious cycle repeats.

Republicans make the tough decisions that end up improving things. Democrats attack Republicans for making those decisions to win elections, inheriting the prosperity that Republicans created. When Democrats squander the opportunity that they stole, they blame the Republicans for being out of touch with the current realities, until a new Republican comes along to make tough decisions again.

In addition to not understanding the police situation, he also displayed a total misunderstanding in the interview of why his fellow Democrats were clobbered in November. No, Your Honor, it was not a failure of Democrats to communicate their ideas effectively. It was a total rejection of them.

Why of course black law breakers should allways resist arrest and not be injured or wind up losing their life particularly when they’re fighting over the cop’s gun. After all the courts will let them go with a 3 month slap on the wrist.../sarc

Did New Yorkers really expect their commie mayor blabla to stand by the city’s cops and not to support the regimes effort at racial division which is being done to disuade any impeachment effort and get in goose step behind that effort ? Their Commies ! That’s what Commys do!
