Democrats have been worried about the African-American vote in Louisiana for months. But what really doomed Sen. Mary Landrieu's reelection bid was the near-monolithic white vote against her.
Landrieu's loss Saturday to Republican Sen.-elect Bill Cassidy followed a November all-party primary in which the incumbent got a lower share of the white vote (18 percent) than all other Democratic Senate candidates in the country but one, according to exit polling. There was no exit poll Saturday night due to a lack of media interest in the runoff, perhaps because even Landrieu's campaign acknowledged that she would need at least 30 percent support from white voters to win another term, a huge jump from her baseline in November.
That's about what Landrieu received when she won her final Senate term in 2008, and her drop-off since then highlights how the white voters who used to be the Democratic Party's Southern foundation have left—and how the party has collapsed without them.
"She came home to a sea of change since she last ran," said Bernie Pinsonat, a pollster in the state. "We don't have any Democratic statewide officials, after her, left. The Legislature is now dominated by Republicans; you don't even need a Democrat to pass a bill. Next year there will be maybe 10, or maybe eight or seven white Democrats left in the entire Capitol building. There's been a mass exodus and not something that had gone unnoticed. I don't know why she ran for reelection."

You really hit on something there.
TV and the Great Society went hand in hand. Is there a connection? I think so. Great Society liberalism would've been impossible without the unprecedented propaganda machine that network TV was in all its aspects (sitcoms, dramas, as well as slanted news and ads).
But now the media environment is changing, to the benefit of conservatives.

Lincoln was a liberal, Douglas was a Conservative. The Republicans are and have always been racist, but the parties “flipped” (at some mythical point) so Democrats are falsely being attributed as the racists in history.

They could almost get away with losing such a high percentage of whites...since we have an exploding Hispanic population (for various reasons).
Only problem for the Dems is that Hispanics in the South, at least, voted 45% Republican in November, so they’re next to useless for the Dems..
But it’s GREAT to see the national Democrat Party, with their EXTREMISM on guns, immigration, and gay marriage, finally driving whites to the Republican Party. If this keeps up, the Dems may end up with a LOT MORE states to worry about in 2016, as there are still a LOT of whites in this country (despite the best efforts of both parties).

They’d be primary’d out if they did. A black would run against her and clean her clock. She was basically squeezed from both sides and had nothing left.
No it is not monolithic if a Democrat gets a huge percentage of the black vote. Per liberal criteria it is only monolithic and sinster if big numbers of white voters vote against a Democrat or liberal candidate.

Slowly...Hispanics, however are nearly 50% Republican in the South, as they’ve had it with the Democrats. Jews just seem scared to death of supporting people that talk bible once in a while. Asians have started catching on in California (of all places) where they realize that the organizations that are supposed to look after their interests are instead arms of the Democrat Party and are supporting the Democrat attempts to keep them out of the top schools, so more blacks and Hispanics can get in. Women that are married get it, those that are young and single (25-40) simply hate men and thus still vote Democrat. Gays are hopeless, but at least they’re a small number (despite their recruiting efforts in our public schools).
96% of blacks voted for Mary Loser.
But black racist voting is never ever condemned. Why is that?
FWIW, she still got 25% of the white vote in her doomed re-election bid.

30% of Jews now vote Republican and that number seems all but certain to grow as liberal Jews die off.
Almost no one apart from blacks, likes who the Democrats have become.

Indeed the entire "Southern Strategy" was a vicious lie fabricated by the marxists. In reality, the Republicans of the 1860s have the same principles of the non-RINOs of today: small government, low taxes, pro-business and color-blind liberty for all.
No exit polls, no way of determining the racial makeup of this 43% of voters who turned out.

On one hand the bad actors in the Black community have become militant and the younger members who have grown up under Obama have come to enjoy violent, unprovoked attacks on whites.
The “cilvil rights” crowd has been anything but civil and they have overplayed, over reached and overdrawn the race card so badly that they lost all moral legitimacy in the eyes of main stream America
A huge portion Whites are sick of the whole situation and white guilt has ended and has been replaced by one of disgust and open questions such as, “what is wrong with these people”
Now you know why our betters have decided to open the border and replace us. Don’t like your citizenry? Get new ones.
Agree...but it like pulling teeth with them. It’s OBVIOUS that the Republicans are the best party for them, but they just can’t come around to accepting that.
But as you say, they (the FDR Dem Jews) are going away, although their real power has always been their money - let’s see what happens there.

I agree that he has been a Nuke on racial relations, but he didn’t do it all. LBJ started the ball rolling; before he took the reigns racial relations were OK, if not perfect.
LBJ founded the Democrat Plantation. Prior to that the Dems confined their mendacity to treason, and the dismantling of the constitution.

That situation in Staten Island makes me wonder how many of those convenience store jobs (where the oppressive tax is collected) are filled by non-citizens.
“White Flight” is like “White Privilege”, a term used by liberals to make themselves look and feel good. By and large, the South remains a bastion of patriotic feelings and work ethic. The Democrat Party has moved entirely away from those concepts into anti-patriotic and Obamaphones.
So it is not “White Flight”, it is Democrat revulsion and repugnance!
