Landrieu (D): 41.97% (465,993 votes)
Cassidy (R): 58.03% (644,247 votes)
3399 of 4,018 Precincts Reporting (1,110,240 votes)

Oh, Orleans won’t tip the race. The question right now is basically whether the margin is above or below her jungle primary showing of 42.1%. She’ll probably improve on that by a point or two after Orleans fully dumps. (They’re at 40% right now.)

Yup. She conceded thirty minutes after the polls opened.

It wasn’t meant to be her night.

Landrieu won East Baton Rouge in the primary by 13 points. Now, with 2/3 of its precincts reporting, she’s losing by 5%.

Dem "Get out the vote" requires money. Why spend money on a race you know you will lose?

Jefferson Parish (my home parish): Cassidy 54% Landrieu 46% so far with 96% in.

Frankly a disappointing result, but the metro N.O. area has been under Mary’s spell, even Republican-leaning parishes, heck, she’s actually WON St. Bernard Parish. If she wasn’t getting killed in northern LA, the Lake Charles area, and the Baton Rouge suburbs, these results would have been political death for us.

I've tried to find the biggest defeat of a democrat so far.

Thank you for that posting.
Very interesting.
Wish that TV channel would have shown Senator’s Vitter’s address.

Meh. it was a jungle primary. She's down 4% from her jungle primary showing there, but it's a question of what precincts are out.

Let's put it this way. The Maness voters aren't voting Landrieu.

Its pretty good actually.... I don’t expect her numbers to get out of the cellar. She’s been at 42% the better part of the night and that won’t change when Orleans dumps its remaining votes.

And that’s with 95% of precincts having reported. Going to bed now.
