Racial Divide: The Tragedy of America’s First Black President
Der Spiegel ^ | December 03, 2014 – 03:18 PM | Markus Feldenkirchen and Holger Stark

… “It won’t ever stop,” says the man, a black pastor named Alvin Herring. He has been accompanying the protests since the beginning of August, ever since white police officer Darren Wilson shot an unarmed, 18-year-old black man named Michael Brown. “A deep, festering wound has opened up in the heart of American culture and society,” Herring says. […]

The black population of America had high hopes for “their” president. They had the feeling, when they cast their ballots in 2008 and 2012, that something momentous was taking place. Never before had so many blacks voted as in those two elections. When one of ours ends up in the White House, they seemed to hope, then things will finally improve for us as well.

In March 2008, when Barack Obama, then a candidate for president, gave his big speech on racism, he sounded like the one who could unite the country. But in November of this year, Obama is—contrary to his intentions—the president of a country that is more divided than ever before. And one of the deepest divisions runs between blacks and whites.

That is the real tragedy of America’s first African-American president. …

Of course, Der Spiegel would have to interview someone from the Alinsky-inspired PICO National Network. (A living red Herring? They must have savored the irony.)

“It won’t ever stop”—yeah, I feel you. The violence of blacks towards whites and other non-blacks won’t ever stop, because no one even has the honesty and courage to even recognise it. It just keeps on escalating.

How can anyone expect to achieve an inclusive, color blind, race blind society when all that’s preached is why one culture should hate / be jealous of the other?

The race hucksters actions only make sense if parity, equality is not their goal.

Despite his intentions? It has been Obama’s intention to divide this country the whole time! Polarization is part of the Alinsky way!

Obama blew it when he decided to be a “black” president or man.

A far better approach would have been for him to define himself as both black and white, rising above the artificial distinction as irrelevant. Instead, by choosing his black ancestry as definitive, rejecting and denying his white ancestry, he actually made the divide more important, not less.

This is especially so because he was essentially raised as “white,” in white culture, not black. By his actions he demonstrated that one-half of his race and ancestry was, and should be, more important and definitive of him than the other half and his upbringing combined. Just as the Nazis and KKK have always said.

All very sad.

The black population of America had high hopes for “their” president.

Roughly 12% of the US populace.

What about the other 78%?

I would not call red (Marxist) culture “white culture”. It came about as reactionary towards traditional white culture, albeit with the intent to create its own form of feudalism.

I was using not my terms, but those of black activists. By their definitions, Obama was raised in about as “non-black” a culture as can be imagined.

ANYTHING??

Because THEIR black president turned out to be an arrogant, communist, muslim loving dumbass who didn’t give them nearly as much wealth redistribution as they expected, blacks are compelled to demonstrate their increased hate and resentment of whitey.

That pretty well sums it up.

I would not call red (Marxist) culture “white culture”.

Obama's father was never around.

His mother was leftist, but he was raised largely by his (white) grandparents.

I've seen comments that they were leftist, but little actual evidence.

Do you have evidence that they were?

It won’t stop as long as the racist democrats see an opportunity to get votes and strengthen their power.

Nobama encourages his half-brethren nearer the edge in some Don Quixote quest for slavery reparations based advantage. The goal was never equality and instead a covert ploy for advantage and privilege on an NBA Star level at no personal expense or effort by the recipients.

SOLUTION TO RACIAL VIOLENCE;
PARENTS WHO TEACH AND DISCIPLINE
RESPECT FOR OTHERS
RESPECT FOR THE LAW
DONT ASSAULT COPS
DONT RESIST ARREST
GET EDUCATED
GET A JOB
most of the ferguson rioters had none of the above...
Plus obama and holder have an agenda to position federal law enforcement and dilute local law enforcement and then selectively dole out “justice” as they wish..
319 shootings took place in chicago after the ferguson incident... not a word from obama or holder... why?

It is statements like “one of ours” or “my people” by Blacks in so called influential places that keep racial division going strong.
