I think this was first reported back in October, but you didn’t hear anything about it in the MSM leading up to the election.
China has 1.3 billion people. We are 1 billion fewer. Most of the people in China are dirt poor. The wealth is very concentrated among the “communists”. Think democrat party members here.

We have been wrecking our own economy for 40 years, in the name of crony liberalism.
So, why would ANYONE surprised by this?
I watched a show a couple days ago that was just talking about the biggest, tallest, whatever. When it came to roads and bridges I was shocked to see the number of super high, super long bridges built by China in the last few years. They now have like five of the highest bridges in the world, all built recently. Structures like this can't be built by weak nations.
All while we are shutting down our power plants and renting rides into space from Russia.
The rise of China and the decline of America is being suppressed. It's far worse than we think.

The biggest obstacle to this kind of infrastructure in the U.S. isn't money or ingenuity. It's an elected government that is: (1) supposed to reflect the priorities of its citizens (most of whom would rather pay $600 for an iPhone than pay $300 towards the cost of a new bridge), and (2) does not have the legal authority to displace thousands of people from private property on a whim in order to build these things.

It is just a question of size. China matches us in total GDP with only 1/4 of our per capita GDP.
