You might take solace in the fact that when you die, your days of polluting the planet are over. But the truth is that the method you choose to dispose of your mortal remains has more of a deleterious impact on the environment than you might think.
Conventional burials contribute to climate change in a number of ways. Although embalming slows the decomposition process, it does not stop it completely.
Cremation is relatively benign compared to conventional burial, thanks in part to the required filtering of emissions done by crematories in the United States. Still, the average cremation uses 28 gallons of fuel to burn a single body, emitting about 540 pounds of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
Death -- like birth -- is a momentous event, and it deserves rituals that resonate deeply for us as humans. Connecting with the natural cycles as we die or grieve the loss of a loved one helps us heal by reminding us that we are ultimately part of an incredible ecological system.

Except that while some animals do grieve, I don't think it's possible for them to "connect with the natural cycles" as they do so. In fact, that goes beyond mere intelligence, which might be aware of natural cycles, but feel no need to "connect" with them to alleviate grief.
So in fact, the use of the word "connect" reveals a distinct allegiance to spirituality, which is contradicted by the invocation of carbon dioxide against cremation, from which global warming totalitarianism is obliquely supported.
Therefore, I am offended.
Why not?
Perhaps It could just demonstrate the process to us.
PS, “It”: I’m not polluting anything. The Planet Luvs me as I do it, and we have been communicating together in an ageless process for about the last 6 decades.

I hate to say it but I’m kind of on her side on this one. I can’t think of any reason for people to be pumped full of chemicals when they’re already dead. And don’t get me started on burial vaults and the like. Talk about throwing money into a hole in the ground. I think the Jews have it right here. A simple shroud and a plane pine box.
