The last two presidential primaries have been, as you say, useless, meaningless exercises.

The sum total accomplished by all of that conservative expenditure of time, energy and money was ZERO.

And the deck is stacked for ‘16 even more thoroughly than in ‘08 and ‘12.

The Romney Republicans crushed everyone in their path in terms of party control.

For example, here in my state of Iowa, with its first in the nation caucus, they control the party lock, stock and barrel.

And that was on top of the party rules they had already put in place which guarantee their ascendancy.

Barring a miracle, that is.

Zero. None. Nada.

That's a popular number. It's the number of presidential elections won by republican liberals in the last 2 elections.

It's the same number of presidential elections won by 3rd party candidates.

Waste a vote and vote for a liberal? Or waste a vote and vote for a conservative.

I know which I'll want to explain at the Throne. I won't be voting for abortion candidates like Romney.

When did the Republicans win an election with out conservatives? I can’t remember a single time since I’ve been voting.

They all try to fool us into believing they are conservative, but they are not.

Jeb says he doesn't need my vote, so don't you ever tell me to hold my nose and vote for that liberal bastard. I won't. /johnny

???? I never said anyone should vote for him - never even saw this article until you pinged me.

I hate that we haven't had the conservative choices we want for a while. That said, when all the chips have fallen, I will look at our choices and vote for the least damaging - we need to focus on getting our choices into and through the primaries so we have someone worthy of the title "Conservative". Failing that, I will not commit hari-kari by standing idly by while another Obama waltzes into the WH. I'm hoping Cruz and/or Walker make their intentions official so I have someone to get behind and try to help push onto the ticket.

Jeb’s words need to be thrown back in his face for the entire primary season. Knowing the GOPe, rove will probably insist that no candidates can debate in the primaries except for those handpicked in a “secret” ballot consisting of only jebba, mittens, and the other big fatso.

Jebbie makes a jackass look like an appealing creature. But Texans can’t see that.

You say this, but TX just elevated George P. Bush to stardom, the fourth generation of Bushes. The Republican primary voters are fully clueless and shall so remain.

Doesn't mean I agree with the lesser of 2 evils, but that's all there is to choose from. Voting third party is a potential vote for the greater of 2 evils.

Unfortunately I cannot vote for who the Party leaders in either House of Congress are. But you think Nancy was better than Bonehead? Granted Bonehead is not much better than Nancy, but, in my opinion he is better than Nancy.

All I can do is cast my vote for who I favor in the primary process. If there is insufficient support for whom I favor then I must decide who of the viable candidates is better for this country.

Look, I am not the enemy. I too am mad as can be at the Republican Party, and disheartened by their trashing of conservatives. I am even more disheartened, no make that frightened, by the Communist Party, A.K.A. the Democrats, and their goal to destroy this country.

I know I am only buying time voting for the lesser of the 2 evils (in order to keep the greater of 2 evils from power), but my hope is that time will give people a chance to regain their senses and turn more toward conservative principals & philosophies. In other words, I will not trash my country quicker and allow America's enemies to gain the controls of power and succeed in their goal of destroying this country beyond repair.

If that is a stupid endeavor in your opinion, then color me guilty or stupid or whatever you chose. It doesn't matter to me. What matters to me is saving this country and making it even better.

I will vote for anyone that is pro-life, for strong borders, pro-2nd amendment, for private medicine, and for smaller government.

We want the same type of candidate. Unfortunately more often than not, that person is not a viable candidate. So I will chose the viable candidate who shares the majority of those beliefs as do I. Then I will fight as hard as possible to get that person to see my point of view on the items we may not see eye-to-eye on.

A viable candidate gets elected. McCain and Romney weren't viable candidates because they were liberal republicans.

Your 'conventional wisdom' is BS to keep conservatives out of the race.

It doesn't matter in the general election. If enough don't vote for your liberal republican, liberal republicans won't ever win a presidential election.

Running as a liberal republican will be a political kiss of death.

That's good enough for me.

You've lost twice now, voting for liberal republicans. Ready for a change?

Ready for a change?

If by that you mean voting for a 3rd party candidate, then I guess the answer is no. Because no 3rd party candidate has ever won, and the odds are they will never win. If they are a serious candidate they will run in the Republican Party. Just like Reagan did, much to the chagrin of the Party masters who hated Reagan. Problem is I haven't seen a Republican who can impress the conservatives, the party loyalists, and and the independents like Reagan did.

We would never of had Reagan had he ran on a 3rd party ticket because he couldn't overcome the Party masters.

You are the reason that the GOP keeps running liberals and shoving them down the throat of the electorate. They know you will vote for whatever liberal they put up.

And you are wrong about 3rd party. The republican party was 3rd party until the Whigs quit listening to the electorate, and then they couldn't get elected. Being a whig was a political kiss of death.

The same thing can happen to the republicans.

I'm working hard to make sure that being a liberal republican is a political kiss of death, so the party can be replaced by a conservative party.

You can drive the liberals out of the republican party.

But you can't do it by voting for them in the general election.

Since your liberal republicans lose anyway, you aren't losing anything if you refuse to reward bad behavior.

“Read it GOP: I will not vote for Jeb Bush.”

I will not vote for a single GOP candidate, State, local, or federal if the GOP support this liberal Democrat.

Richard M. Nixon similarly dissed conservatives in 1960 when he went to Fifth Avenue to surrender to Nelson A. Rockefeller.

There are plenty of conservative (not Republican) candidates out there to vote for. My ballot almost never just has dems and pubs as the only choices.

If you want to vote for or write in a conservative candidate, you can.

I always vote. But never for a liberal, so that means almost never for a Dem and damn rarely for a Republican.
