In a conference call today, President Barack Obama endorsed Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) in her bid to win her Senate seat, which she has held for more than a decade, against Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-LA).
The endorsement will most likely serve as a burden for Landrieu, rather than an asset, as a majority of Louisiana voters do not approve of Obama’s agenda and the way he has handled Obamacare or the economy.
Landrieu has spent her entire re-election avoiding Obama and his policies, which she has largely supported. Exit polling in the November Senate race, showed that there are 5 issues that Louisianians care most about.
Three of those issues involve Obama and his policies directly and Landrieu’s support for them. Voters have an issue with the way the economy has been sluggish, even though the President has poured tons of public money in order to jump-start the economy.
Voters also take issue with Obamacare, which Landrieu infamously cast the deciding vote for. And lastly, voters have an issue with Obama, himself. A whopping 49 percent of Louisianians who voted on Nov. 4th said they “strongly disapprove” of Obama’s handling of the country. Another 10 percent of Louisianians said they “somewhat” disproved.
So, what do you think? Will Obama’s endorsement of Landrieu prove to be detrimental to her campaign?

Wouldn’t you love to be a fly in the wall in Landrieu’s office? Get the butter and jelly out because Mary’s toast.
I hope that Obama campaigns for her and says that his policies are on the ballot. It could add a couple of points to Cassidy’s victory.
Mary was supposed to get 15 percent of the Republican vote, but I don’t think Mike Michot and “Boysie” Bollinger will be able to deliver.
